Leafs playing well enough ...controlling much of the play but the Big Bruin D and C's just clogging up the dangerous ice ..and Leafs can't find a way to finish. It's like watching the playoffs.

Kampf and JT lines looked solid last night. Grind, cycle, get it to the net. McManimal looks like he might be a keeper in the bottom 6.

34 and 16 settled trying to create from the outside. Can't beat Boston and Florida out there - goaltending is too good. Gotta get to the net. And the Bertuzzi-Domi-Nylander line just isn't good enough.

I love how Keefe told the players at the beginning of the season to go out and put up points, chase individual stats etc. Clearly Marner never stops playing defence, that’s why he was a step behind at the start.

But game 60 or whatever game it is Keefes benching the usual guys, trying to get them to play better defence. Maybe start with that at the beginning of the season, Sheldon?

That’s why the Leafs looked so bad lastnight. They were told to play a certain way, and they’re not used to playing like that. It’s playoff hockey. And Woll wasn’t great.

So don’t go blaming Liljegren or Marner who you always try to crucify. It’s coaching. Keefe left it too long to get them playing the right way.

Last night was a good reminder of what it will take to win in the playoffs. If the Leafs end up finishing 3rd in the division, does that mean they could end up facing Florida or Boston in the 1st round?

Do you ever hear John Cooper or Paul Maurice saying, “we gotta get guys playing better defence, it’s not good enough” etc. like it’s a consistent theme?
