Re: Wennberg.
He could threaten Willy for the most handsome guy on the team. Does Willy need that kind of distraction? I don’t think Willy could handle it.

I lost my sense of smell and my sense of taste is weird as phuck. It's no joke. The taste seems to be slowly improving, but I have barely smelled a thing since 2020.
- GalacticStone

I also went a while without being able to taste or smell...maybe the same thing.
but its never been the same since. stuff just doesnt taste the same

don't worry Wodsie ..we've all made the "oops I quoted myself instead of editing" mistake.

Don't be too embarrassed. I mean, realistically you should feel shame and embarrassment but just not too much.

Damn, have you been diagnosed with anosmia? After they did by lobectomy in 2021 the loss of smell was something the neurologists/neurosurgeons wanted me to report to them immediately.

It’s got a boatload of reasons for killing smell, and sometimes it’s nothing more than other meds like antibiotics. I hope this is something meant to be overcome by you.

- Dozzer

Not an official diagnosis (for loss of smell). I'm an American without insurance. Aint nobody got time (or gold) for formal diagnosis. Covid diagnosis was official. I got it, I got sick as phuck. Sicker than I had ever been in my life. Scary sick. Didn't require hospitalization, but was getting close. Finally pulled out of it, but my smell and taste have not been the same since. I haven't pushed for a diagnosis because of the expense and the simple fact that there is nothing they can do about it. It just has to go away on it's own over time.

Just curious. This is for any lurkers reading this,

Are there any other American or Lightning fans that read these Toronto threads?

Or, am I the only insane one?

Took about 18 months to get my smell back to normal(ish).
Weirdest times, were after it started to come back. Would get smell paradox's happening.
Thing A smells Identical to Thing B, Thing B is identical to thing C, but thing A and C smell completely different...at the same time.

Just caught this sorry.

It is tied to Covid as well (I looked it up quick) so hopefully as one of the light ones it fades for you. I’ll keep my fingers crossed 🤞

Did someone delete the 100s of posts about Marner's icing that led to the tying goal? Because well he is treated so unfairly in this thread.

Nothing deleted here, this blog has only been around since about 1:30pm however, and I haven’t seen deletions today anyways.

I actually had something good come out of Covid, in December. 12 months earlier, I had suffered my 7th concussion. This time, I had Vertigo for almost a year. I contracted Covid and 3 days in, the Vertigo went away. The therapists and doctors were flabbergasted. Me? I'll take it!

That’s actually amazing!! Would be interesting to see if an under control Covid begins to be used for vertigo and, well, anything else if it passes tests. I can totally see something like that happening.

Congrats big time to you for that

Weird eh?
For me it was Psoriasis...3 weeks into having covid, I discovered my constantly shabby shins were clear. I guess immune system diseases go into remission when they have real bad things to take care of.

I actually had an EMT doctor at Toronto General looking after me. He couldn't get over it. It was something to do with an inner ear problem and crystals in my neck not moving. They tried everything. I had 6 distinct 2 month therapy sessions, 2 to 3 times a week with no results. I remember being so bad the first couple of days of Covid, I could hardly get up to go to the washroom. I was staggering and falling into walls. On day 3, I woke up at 4 in the morning for a washroom trek and I started walking OK with no Vertigo. I said to my wife, this isn't normal. I thought that it would reoccur but it didn't. Went to a specialist in Oshawa a few weeks later and they confirmed, the Vertigo was gone. They set up another set of tests at Toronto General and the EMT specialists couldn't believe it. Now I still have dizziness from time to time, usually issues with barometric pressure changes and I still have balance issues, but it's a lot better without Vertigo and constant room spinning when I lay down. I thank God most days for that.

I never tried that, but my wife brought me back some from Mexico, if I ever need it again.
