Yeah, the more time passes the more it seems like he had his hands tied so he cut out.
We will find out if Dubas has that same trait very soon. He admitted his moves hasn't worked out, so how will he redeem it? The most obvious thing would be whacking the whole coaching staff.
I think he was waiting to see if the players would turn it on and they never did. Now it's time to completely rethink things. - MacPatty
Some roses color glasses on how his tenure ended. Rutherford was great for us until he wasn’t. I’ll remember his tenure fondly but he overstayed his welcome by about two years. He wasted a bunch of capital on bad players and then tried to trade Letang and/or Malkin because that was the only move he had left after he (frank)ed up our roster construction beyond repair. |

Middle Six ceiling. We desperate for another Tyler Kennedy? - RoloTahmasee
I mean to be honest we have lacked bottom six scoring and he has a great shot, will throw his body around, and has played up and down Vancouver's line up |

Hoglander would be my ideal get from Vancouver - 123Kid

This list is very well constructed IMO. Obviously I have a couple players higher and some lower but a good list of players I’d hope for. My goal if I was Dubas would be to land 1 of the top 30 ish players here with another strong piece (player, top prospect, 1st) quality over quantity should always be the goal imo. Quantity you can get from college, Russia and waivers/ free agents. |

According to DK, GMJR left over a contract dispute. Had nothing to do with control over personnel. JR felt he deserved more years and Morehouse wouldn't commit to that. Rutherford left in a huff. None of that has ever been confirmed because neither side would talk about it. TIFWIW.
The single worst trait an executive or manager can have is refusing to correct a mistake because they lack humility. Those people always fail. |

Oh he definitely stayed too long, but he salvaged the Sid/Malkin years. It would have been a crime if they didn't win those two cups. Pens waisted way too many years on Shero and Bylsma.

Why was Jager so polarizing? This isn’t the only list I’ve seen that was low on him. I know nothing about prospects. |

Agreed. Like I said, he was great until he wasn’t. Focus on the good times, no use dwelling on the later blunders. |

Man, Sid misses on a routine pass then comes off after only 30s on the PP. Looks completely disinterested. Does Sid manage to have over a point per game this year? |

All of Columbus’s best shifts are when the “nhl” lines for the pens are on the ice. |

Would trading Malkin have been the wrong move? What have we done in the last 2+ years with him? We might have been able to get a haul back then, guys that could be legit contributing right now
FU beyond repair? Got rid of Kessel at the right time as his play fell off a cliff shortly after. Hornqvist for Matheson was a good trade only F'd up by Hextall trading him away for Petry
Getting a 2nd for Murray was genius. Zucker trade was good except for the fact Zucker was always hurt. Calen Addison turned out to be a bust anyways
Worst trade he made post Cups was the Brassard trade that he turned into Jared McCann - Hextall (again) is the one that screwed that up
Hagelin for Pearson then for Gudbransson who he unloaded onto Anaheim for nothing
Might want to take a look back at all the JR trades - Not many bad ones, and the ones that were bad he made schrewd moves to recover from |

Obviously could be different reasons but to me it was the drop in goals from his 17 to 18 year old seasons. That’s always a red flag with young players if they have flat lined for development at an early age. If he had 10-12 more goals I’d say he would have been a top 8-10 pick. I realistically think if he gains 15 pounds from start of this season to next season he could play next season. |

Pathetic. The shot on the PP was on the overloaded side. Blocked, caused breakout. Goal against. Idiotic. Rinse and repeat. |
