No, you just said it’s so stupid they haven’t done it and I pointed out some reasons why they haven’t. No soapboxes involved

Way to do your job captain, not sure how any of us could have a conversation about this without your insightful contributions.

And news flash when you jump on here and spout the same thing over and over again every time this topic comes up it kinda' is you getting on your soapbox.

Those are good adds for the Oilers - they should be happy. Not sure what the cost was but if they are happy I would assume it was probably reasonable.

I don't think the price is known yet.

My friend is an Oiler fan, and his attitude towards this era with Draisaitl and McDavid is - who cares about the future. Win a cup NOW while you have the best player in the world, and arguably another top-5 player in Draisaitl. He doesn't care what they have to give up. Trade a 1st to get rid of Campbell, trade a 1st to get Henrique . . . .don't touch the core - and that's about it.

That would be awful honestly. Id rather just do nothing. Treeliving isnt a great GM, but I was hoping Pridham would keep him in check.

Dumba is definitely not worth much.

A few of the top insiders said he’s low on the leafs list

Parayko

Honestly can’t think of any other RHD that I’d want. Unless Roy or Pesce become available for some reason.

I love that ottawa has had so many complete bust years in a row with not much to show for it.
But i honestly did think at the beginning of the year they could battle for a playoff spot.
Ah well, F them.
Lol

Dubas decimated the Leafs draft picks on UFA players. Its to be expected. The truth is the Leafs have very little to trade. I just hope if they do make a trade, its for a true update, because whatever the cost, its going to be a minimum a first.

Honestly, I feel the leafs are in a similar boat. I'd rather be Carolina who won a cup and then did nothing for 10 years than to "build for the future" but it never comes.

Winning is tough. Win one and I'd be happy.

For all the Parayko smoke, IMO there is no way he gets traded by the deadline. If anything, hell be an offseason trade.

Outside of Lindholm and Monohan, no trade has been at a cost the leafs can't afford. Even then it was just a first rounder they may not have wanted to part with in those trades, which the leafs can move if they really wanted to.

Why though?

It’s not a “he’s available everyone bid on him” scenerio. NTC

The longer they wait the less likely a team takes one of those long term aging D. All NTCs too.

If Tre and Armstrong have an appetite for a blockbuster they can absolutely make it work.

Long term contracts are rarely traded during the season. Very rarely. It COULD happen but I see why they suggest an off season move.
