That thought crossed my mind, but I see more value with him, than with Mik and PDG, Myers. Ideally I’d like to see those 3 moved out and a better forward and D moved in. Because it’s sounding like they’re putting their faith in Kessel. - I-own_da-Northwest
Phil the Thrill will be a Canuck tomorrow. Mik will probably be moved in the summer. PDG is moot and probably playing his last game tonight.
I think it is going to cost Podz to get Toffoli. |

The way things are going you would think this is the last year of competing for a Stanley cup, think critically 😜 |

Sweden's top #Canucks prospects playoff status:
Jonathan Lekkerimäki (Örebro) has two games remaining and carries a two point cushion in the playoff table.
Elias Pettersson (Västerås) plays his final game tomorrow. They are well out of the playoff race (👀).
.................................................
We might see DPetey next week. - VANTEL
Lekkerimaki is hot right now, whenever his season ends they might as well give him a look, could be a shot in the arm on the PP |

I think Podz playing last night and tonight for the Canucks is being showcased. Could be gone by tomorrow. Probably going to NJD. - VANTEL
This is from Patrick Johnston:
Jim Rutherford tells me the Podkolzin move is simply "paper work" ie related to setting Abbotsford's Calder Cup roster on Friday. Team really happy with his first two games back in NHL. He'll play a role again.
I don't think they're looking at moving him... he could be moved, of course, but I don't think the demand for him is great and they probably like what he brings. |

Podkolzin is simply a younger slightly more skilled version of Phil Di Giuseppe, he was a terrible pick by you-know-who. If they can trade him for a slow but goal scoring Toffoli, that's a big win for the organization. |

You give up to easily on the develop side. Pods is not PDG lol and you know who picked the whole core so let that tired take go. The guy sucked on putting a team together to win as a GM but he brought in some good talent. |

He'll never amount to anything at the NHL level. With Miller, Hughes, Pettersson and Demko being at the top of their games it's important to get a scoring winger - NOW. Podkolzin isn't that...he's a plug!!
Miller is a top ten player in the NHL and he's 30 years old, there's no time like the present, the time to make a push is now. |

Yeah, finishing 23-27th for multiple years didn’t help at all. Letting assets walk, running out of time, poor player analysis, the list goes on. He hit on
Pete, Demko and Hughes and a some fringe adds. Joe Levi, Pods, Virtanen were clear misses. I think Lefty might have reason to vent. |

Yes agree Lindy offers more as a center. But can be moved game time to wing with Petey. Plus special teams. He’s versatile.
As for line combos when Joshua is back he might be used top 6. Otherwise RT probably plays Lindy over Bluegar with Garland and Joshua. The wingers seemed to have had the chemistry with Bluegar just being defensive responsible. Either way lots of options with Lindy.
Whereas Guentzal has to mesh with Petey or JTM or he’s not offering anything.
They just might go all in for just to add him too. Find the cap space with Myers LTIR? Or moving Mik? Anything is possible with Canucks. - Quinn's Quest
Great thoughts here.

All for getting a top 6 winger. I trust management will make the right move.
As for Pods you could say he has Smyl like qualities. You see how long it took JTM to get to where he is so some patience on Pods. He’s getting there those types of brash players take time. Another example is Joshua.
Really like how the Canucks are developing guys. So surprised that you don’t see that.

Then maybe Rutherford and Allvin should email Tocchet and say 'maybe not bury Lindhom on the 3rd and 4th lines' lol.
Tocchet has Hogs and Suter ahead of Lindholm in the top 6 and it's just and odd coaching error. Much like in Calgary Lindholm needs top 6 minute to succeed here he isn't going to magically 'score more' on the 3rd line as Rutherford thinks.
Use him properly and he'll produce. |

To steal a phrase from QQ, you know what a "tired take" is, this fu ckin complete BS that Benning assembled a core....my goodness, what a crock of crap. It implies that he masterminded some great coup or something, the idiot lost all the time while spending cap and assets like candy which gave him multiple top ten draft picks.
The guy lost and finished near the bottom of the league for seven of eight years and there's not one defenseman in the entire organization worth mentioning outside of Quinn Hughes, he was a COMPLETE disaster. Vantel and Reuby could've assembled the same or better core than Benning, and, like Benning, they have no hockey IQ what-so-ever..... |

You know what the Canucks are competing for, progress, renewed excitement, any semblance of playoff success, that's what they're competing for. They are realistically in the infancy of recovering from the Benning years.
In June of 2024 the Oilers will be 15 drafts removed from drafting Taylor Hall first overall and they're still trying to figure out how to win in the playoffs, the Canucks are two years removed from Benning. Simply winning one round would be a success and a sign of progress, winning a couple rounds would be a huge sign of progress. |

Rutherford on Lindholm:
"I would say that since we've got him, he's been okay. If we can get a little more on the offensive side of it. I think everybody would be happier.” - Pacificgem
I think these parts of the interview can be seen as a little glass-half-full:
Rutherford didn’t want to make excuses for the players and coaches but did see the post-All-Star schedule as one that was going to be difficult to get through. At this point in the season, no team has played more games than the Canucks (64) and they have played more road games than any other team in the NHL.
The upcoming nine-game homestand with time for practices and days off is going to be beneficial for a team that is ramping up their level for playoffs.
...
“We’re seeing the benefit of it because he's still going through an adjustment period,” said Rutherford of the early acquisition of Lindholm. “We'd like to see more out of him offensively. But in fairness to him, he has been moved around the lineup from centre to right-wing and I think Tocc has got him to a point now where he likes the idea of having those four centres really strong down the middle. Lindholm does a lot of good things that don't show up in the box score, on the defensive side of the puck too. I would say that since we've got him, he's been okay. If we can get a little more on the offensive side of it. I think everybody would be happier.”
The Canucks acquired him, they were on that long road trip then home then back on the road travel. The team was slumping and playing like poop. Lindholm was getting bounced around... one could hope/see a reason that having some down time and practice team (coinciding with the team generally playing better) could get more out of his game. |

Well Pettersson has a 4.5 million raise coming, we have a 4 million cap hit… coming, Hronek and Demko raises coming… safe to say the next 4 years will probably not be as easy as this one. |
