I actually would have been happier trading to get Holl back.

Teams going deep in the playoffs usually have big players on the back end. Better him than another 5' 10" defender that is too concerned with matching the uniform with their purse instead of actually playing a physical game.

He sucks but will still play more playoff games this season than the entire current roster of the Habs.

I can't blame Tree for this. His options sound like he can drop a first and other things to get a guy like Savard or maybe Jenson with term ....or drop mid rounders for guys like Boosh and Edmundson.

I'm not sure I wouldn't have chosen the same path.

If he had some seconds and prospect depth then maybe Tanev was an option.

Everything we've read said he's dangled the first. It probably could have gotten us Wennberg or Henrique ...maybe Tanev? ...but I feel like this place would've screamed if he payed a first+ for any of that.

Meh, low cost and he’s under minimum cap hit. Needs guys to be hard to play against in their own zone. Seeing last year with schenn was huge just whacking and clearing the net.

Nah. Edmundson isn't great, but he's better defensively than Holl (who has been healthy scratched several times this season) and he doesn't have any remaining term.

Capfriendly has Timmins moved to LTIR. Gio still on IR. Even with that Leafs currently at 24 bodies. Somebody's getting waived or another deal is happening soon.
