back injury tonight against Boston...he's been dealing with back issues for a few years now
- Symba007

Mark Stone has been broken for years now and (frank)s it up even more in playoffs.

Just need him to put his body on the line for playoffs is all

Serevalli said yesterday blues are looking to retain half on Buch to maximize return

The whole point of trading Parayko is to minimize the damage in 2-5 years from now with their horrible cap hits for their NTC d men. So I’d imagine they don’t want to retain much if any on Parayko.

- Santo_44

Maybe you flip a decent prospect to a 3rd team for retention.

Retention for 5-6 more years could be costly
If you are referring to parayko

Yes they can be.
But at least Tre slightly overpaid ( if you feel he did) for a big 30 year old stanley cup champion defenseman that will help the leafs in areas they currently arent that great in.
Imo

- Fakepartofme

i think you also have to recognize that he can help in 1 area, but also hurts in others.

will see if it makes any diff in the end result (winning).

imo good teams like Boston and Florida wont give a poop about edmunson the on leafs

Thought about that...asking another team to retain a full year of 1.45M on top of the rest of this one would be expensive.

No idea what that would cost but more than a 4th/5th for a team taking 800K of cap and only 200K of actual dollars.

Let’s keep an eye on Washington and veteran Joel Edmundson. The big left shot Dman has a number of clubs circling. Toronto, Tampa Bay and Boston to name a few. As of late last night, the Bruins seemed to have the inside track. See how the morning unfolds.

Per Dreger

So yeah, they would..they wanted him on their team.

And I said this in my first response to that-

Besides, we currently have Tavares on the 3rd (frank)ing line. There is no top and bottom 6 with the Leafs. There's the top 9 and 4th line.

And McMann can easily go back onto the 4th line, and likely will (with or without Robertson being traded).

- GreatGigInTheSky

I was just explaining Dozzer's logic.

For me, I just don't think Robertson is good. He's too small and can't ever seem to find the right position to be in. I'd trade him.

PS, JT, the way he's playing, should be on the 5th line with Robertson...aka press box. $11m and the C for the poop game he's been playing is gross. If you take away a million for every bad give away he makes he would owe the team.

They may not, but Eddie should interfere with their game plan a bit. More than what we currently have on the team.
Its really up to keefe utilize players correctly to disrupt the bruins and panthers game plan.
We'll see.

So who would you have preferred for a 3rd and 5th with 50% retained?

We needed to get bigger, nastier, clear our net, some pk'ers, more hits.

And thats what Tre has accomplished. At the end of the day, no matter who we add wont help the team in the playoffs if our core 3 dont score and do what they are paid to do.
Lack scoring was a big part of why leafs booted in the 2nd round

- Fakepartofme

Oh dont disagree there at all.

From the tweeter

"If you actually think about it, Joel Edmundson real value is in game 1 taking Pasta out for the series then getting suspended"

Lol

I wonder if you need to send a good cost protected prospect like a knies or someone for a team to take 5yr hit of a contract.

Then you have to decide if that’s worth it for the leafs.

For retaining Parayko that wouldn't make sense for a team.

Assuming the team is not a contender they would be paying Knies through the end of his RFA and start of his UFA years plus 2Mish from Parayko. just would not line up

Leafs got meaner and bigger on the back end.
A slight overpay, but it is what it is.
Now hopefully keefe can utilize the players properly

Poor Edmundson is gonna get so penalized as a leaf

- Fakepartofme

Apparently Boston and Tampa were the other teams that were trying to get him.
