Imo, both players coming to the leafs have more value than the two leaving plus the yotes are retaining which is at least a 4th

This would make the Leafs much worse, I dont know why they would want to do that. Lilly for all his faults is a far better dman then Dumba. Crouse isnt very good, the only thing he has on Robertson is size. Robertson will score more then him in his career.

Dumba is about all we can reasonably expect. He should be dirt cheap. Hardly ideal but at least he plays a harder game than Liljgren. Liljgren was hot trash v Boston on Monday. We have no assets to make significant adds right now.

So what would the downside of trading Robertson for a 2nd and 4th rounder for next year's draft (2025)? We have no first or second next year, so why not move him and recoup some draft capital for a year from now? It's not like he's going to be playing top 6 minutes here.

Treliving is paying the price for the sins of Kyle Dubas. Leaving the draft drawer almost empty and a sparse group of prospects, he has nothing to work with. Maybe he needs to move out a few spare parts and at least get some later round draft picks and backfill in free agency, in July.

It's worth the gamble knowing Martin Jones can back up Woll. Leafs need to be proactive and start collecting draft capital going forward.

What you are explaining doesn't need to happen. I don't think you are understanding that. I don't know how to explain that to you any clearer.

If you want to trade Brodie to fit Parayko, fine. But adding 400k in Edmondson isn't needed for the little assets the Leafs already have.

Robertson will end up being a good depth scorer in the NHL imo. I wouldn't trade him for Crouse. JMO obviously.
