Every talking head out there says that the Leafs are not contenders this year and that there is no defenseman available at this TDL that will change that. Ok so why is the Leafs first round pick in 2024 even in play. Doesn’t make sense unless there is a player coming back who may not have the impact needed this year but will provide some of what they need while also allowing them to make the necessary additions cap and otherwise within the next 2-3 years
