I would like to see Isles add Jakob Chychrun into the mix next year and try and move on from Mayfield and maybe Pullock. His numbers this season would put him second to Dobber and he is only 25 which would fit in the future.

Maybe Wally could be part of deal.

Maybe something that happens at the draft.

Not sure why you want to get rid of Pulock, he's having his best season in a few years. But regardless, he and Mayfield both have multiple more years of full NTC before it becomes partial, so they're not going anywhere unless they request a trade.

Or agree to a proposed trade and wave the FNTC.
Agree on Pulock and his play this year.

Giving Mayfield an NTC is borderline criminal

Pulock I was thinking age and injury history. Best year could parlay in a better return. If you can get a guy like Chick, he is 4 years younger. Just thinking younger and faster. The way Dobber is going he will be getting the better minutes. Pulock might not want to be the second pair.

Mayfield Contract was a huge mistake based upon his performance and injury history this year.

Just trying to think outside the box.

Worse. You can structure a deal (although, granted, it would probably be costly) to rid yourself of a seven year contract. You can't rid yourself of a contract that includes an NTC if the player doesn't choose to cooperate.

I was going to make a few jokes about it, but I can't top reality...the first song is actually titled, "It's Time To Grow Up."

Not sure which more depressing, the fact that 'lil ho sang' has a rap album or that fact that we are giving attention to it.

C'mon, it's funny. It's not like any of us listened to it let alone gave him any money.

Jimmy not saying it is not funny. He has probably gotten more press over this than anything in his hockey career.

Some of his other hits are....

"I should have been a first rounder"
"I am misunderstood"
"I have been around the world and no one wants me"
"Can't make it on talent alone"
"Garth Snow is my Daddy"
"Up and down the stairs"
"Not invited to camp"
"The wheels on the bus go round and round"

It was more that this was the highlight of islander news. A lot of our past highlights are low lights.

The Penguins announced today that the shipment carrying the Jagr bobbleheads for tonight’s game has been stolen en route to Pittsburgh.

As a result, the bobbleheads will not be distributed at tonight’s game, but will be distributed at a later date.

Nelson is going to be 32. He will be 33 when his Contract is up. What do you do?

1. Do you look to move him at the draft and maximize his worth?
2. Do you hold on to him and let him play out his Contract?
3. Do you move him at next years trading deadline for whatever you can get?
4. Sign him to a 3 year front loaded deal that will hurt you on the backend?

IMO...I see what he is worth at the draft. A contending team maybe more willing to give you something solid. NHL ready player, prospect and 1st. I do not believe he would sign a 3 yr deal. Anything more would be extremely risky. 5 yr puts him at 38?

It is not that I want to move him but he has worth now. Those assets can help the team thrive after he is done playing.

I think the Islanders have to think about moving Nelson and Palms at the draft. Especially if they miss the playoffs or are out in the 1st round.

I think what happens the rest of the season and in the playoffs could dictate what they do with him. If they miss the playoffs or get quickly bounced in the first round I could see them moving him sometime between the summer and next year's trade deadline. But if they make the playoffs and go on a little bit of a run I imagine they hang onto him for next year and see where they're at come deadline day.
