Lou is just bad with contracts. You have to pay Barzal and Bo. These others contracts like Pierre and Mayfield were just brutal. Lou was only tough with Robin’s contract offer.

I don't think he's particularly good at any one thing. He's got a long enough stride that he can pressure defenders on the forecheck for loose pucks, but he can't finish it physically. He seems to telegraph everything he does with the puck. He seemingly brings zero passion.
So low energy. Not physical. Poor puck skills....that's not what I want in a third line player

Exactly! Pierre is a long line of players the Islanders hoped can be top 6 players when they are clearly not top 6. The focus has been on bottom 6 players instead of top 6 players for the longest time and this is why the Islanders are a middle of the pack team.

I’m with Keaner production not withstanding I don’t want him on our third line either. Guy avoids contact like every opposing player has leprosy. I don’t think I’ve seen a player with a less intimidating shot, he just kind of sucks all the way around besides speed.

Patrick needs to sit him next game. I do not care if they need to call Ruslan from Bridge. Patrick needs to send a message you cannot get shutout twice in a row when in a playoff race.

I missed most of the game, but I did see the 3rd period. I'm going to disagree a little with those who thought Lee was wrong to fight Clifton. I thought it was good to see Lee stick up for a teammate, especially in a game that was all but lost already. Also, I think it might be the first time I ever saw Lee win a fight. For us Islander fans, it was the highlight of the game (certainly the 3rd period anyway).

Ending fighting won't end CTE. Football players get CTE, too, and that's just from hard hits, not fighting.

There are always going to be borderline dirty hits in hockey that might not technically be considered illegal. You don't want players taking liberties with your teammates, so if you have an opportunity to discourage them, I say go for it. Just to be clear, I'm not suggesting that hockey return to the 1970s, the Slapshot days...........although the bench-clearing brawls were kind of fun. But eliminating ALL fighting from hockey doesn't seem realistic.
