So telling how a coach makes the difference. The Barry Trotz isles vs the Lame Lambert isles was drastic. These last few games under Roy looked more like the ECF isles under Trotz.

Patrick has done a great job leaning on his top players instead of the bottom 6. Islander coaches of the past would never think to put Nelson on the 1st line and be willing to mix things up like Patrick.

Loving Nelson on the first line. Shoulda happened sooner. Stats are all showing a major bump under Roy vs Lame

As I mentioned in another post, Patrick is not coaching scared and having the team hang on and afraid to go on the attack.

Yeah last game the ice was tilted with 8 min to go in 3rd. Was nice to see the isles playing aggressive with the lead and not just trying to hold on.

Blues had like 13 shots after they scored their 2nd goal and Roy said he was going to cut down the shots against but 1st in the league since he came on board wow

This is what happens when you do not sit back in the D zone and let the other team attack.

We saw what happened when the Islanders tried to protect a 1-0 lead against the Canes in game 6. They tried to hang on for dear life the entire period.

The Blackhawks have traded Anthony Beauvillier to the Predators for a 2024 fifth-round pick. The Blackhawks are not retaining any of Beauvillier's cap hit.

Back to Barry Trotz. Only cost a 5th rounder. That’s a little surprising.

I guess so, the Hawks just wanted him off the books it seems.

The Kirills were drafted higher than the 5th round. Lol

He did have some good playoff moments for Barry. Barry is not coaching though and that was a while ago.

He hasn't been very good since the Isles traded him. He got off to a good start with the Canucks but eventually played his way onto the 4th line and then they dumped him off to Chicago to make room for Zadorov earlier in the season.

I love the kid but he's getting worse and soon enough he's going to end up playing in the AHL if he can't get it together. I'm rooting for him though, I'll never forget that game 6 OT goal against Tampa in the ECF.

Looks like Kirill Kabanov finally found a league he could star in. The highly regarded Danish pro league

Petrov seems to have made a nice little career playing in the KHL though

Side note: Kabanov's picture looks like a junkie that just got arrested

It’s a shame because he had great speed and should have been at least a very solid 3rd line player. Islanders either draft players with good speed and nothing else or no speed and they do other things well.

Wild, baseless predictions. All of which are clearly based firmly in reality:

- Lou trades a pick for Kuznetsov with double-retention to fit him under the cap. He becomes the new 2nd line center
- Lou swaps Wahlstrom for Phillip Broberg from EDM after they acquired Troy Stetcher just now
