Also the narrative that he is only good because of crosby is just dumb. In 38 career games without crosby playing he has 40 points

When not with Sid, he is with their second line Center who goes by the name of Malkin.

Well since you want to be sarcastic bumhole, why bother adding a winger then??? They have been playing so well. We added a third line center now, we can continue to roll as is.
- Brukie

It’s a thought. Maybe he looks to add a dman instead.

Definitely need a D and that elusive RW. If the prices are to high, then you have to pass. The team sits in the top three of the league and every team has faults. We added a good third line Center which will has improved the team. So if we are top three and improved the team, how much more tinkering do we need??

Edit, last year we added 2 big pieces and had a first round exit so the narrative of going big doesnt always pan out.

I wouldnt ignore the need for a RW if the prices are too high, but maybe Id settle for one of the “cheaper” options like Duclair. There could be a player out there no one is talking about as well, who knows.

Here’s my only concern in the pursuit of Gruntzel. Is he a successful product of having played with Crosby for 5 years? We all know how some players make those they play with better, like Panarin.
- OLDSCHOOL#6

I'm sure he can find some chemistry with Aho. Obvious talent difference but he and Sid play a similar style.

And if not, can probably find some chemistry with Svechnikov, or Martin Necas

The fact that the deal didn’t happen last night does make me think the pens don’t want to trade him to the rangers or canes and are waiting for Vancouver to up there offer

Or Vancouver is waiting for the price to drop bc nobody is ponying up the big offer.

This team is good enough to make a deep run and they added a 3C w/o altering the roster. That's a win to me. I don't see Guentzel coming to NY unless the staring contest makes him VERY affordable. Realistically, I see him going West. I wouldn't worry about anything until we're in a 0-3 hole in round 1. Don't forget what happened to that powerhouse Bruin team last year. It could happen to anyone. The best thing to do imo is small additions to give it a good shot w/o letting go of developing players, ala Kakko who is a bit slower to mature. We'll be fine.

I don’t know if he is automatically not on PP1. And if he is on PP2, I think they should keep one of Panarin or Fox on for both.
- Blueshirts4ever

I think they should keep both on for both and rotate the others equally.

The only team not allowed to do it is the Rangers. Just like when they won the draft lottery two seasons in a row. The moment the Rangers do some obvious cap circumvention it will be closed off.

If we add Zucker and Edmonson before Friday, and Carolina doesn't get Guentzel, I would feel great about that.

It's (frank)ing wild. I am frustrated with him too, but I refuse to engage in the discussion about him anymore.

Listen, as neutral fan I love it. Billionaire owners doing whatever you can to win. I wish the Rangers could it.
