Agreed. A game or so maybe - not a 7 game series.
The Leafs are applauded for ‘showing pushback’ when they do and I agree it’s good. But that’s just it - the Leafs need to show pushback to play like that. That’s actually how Bruins play. All the time. It’s their style so they don’t need to change a game plan to accommodate a physical game or series and try to find a way to get offence at same time.

I will always hope for the best for the Leafs but they will hit beat a team like that constructed as they are.

34 is a scorer. He needs to find open ice. He can do that.

16 is a play maker. He needs to have the puck, hold it, find a play. Problem against a big physical team that takes away space and time - he disappears and wilts away.

I put 34 with 88. Not because I want to get into a 16 v 88 debate (please) it’s just because he’s a shooter too. So he wilts a bit also but he can still speed in and out pucks to net. That helps takes some coverage away from 34 also.

Willy can also pass a puck pretty well too. Not as well as 16 but still a smart creative player. Pair him and Bertuzzi (just get to net and retrieve pucks (only job) for a line that I think would get pucks to net and create some chances.
