I have a feeling the league is going to make a Vegas rule this offseason and (frank) them ala Luongo - NewYorkNuck
Will that rule be applied before or after they win the cup this year?
Great job on the blogging man. Thanks. |

It will be retroactive and they award those 2 cups to the Canucks.

I would like to see it, and they may change the rules, but they will never be punished after the fact like the Canucks were. - carsonagenic
They asked about two years ago if they wanted to make an amendment to the LTIR rule and about 27 GMs so no, leave it as it is.

Im still bitter about the Canucks retroactively being punished by a rule that did not exist when they made the move. That cap space would have came in handy. The current LTIR rule is garbage, but if they want it, then keep it. |

#Canucks are done for the day, I'm told.
No moves, and did not sign Phil Kessel. - Pacificgem
They like their farm depth I guess. They didn’t like to give up more prospects, used up most of their draft picks, and had no cap room.
Was surprised no depth moves. |

I’d like them to make a simple change. If you activate someone from LTIR after the last day of the season, there’s a 2-7 game waiting period based on how long they’re been on LTIR. Either be cap compliant heading into the playoffs, or that player/players can’t play the first little bit of the playoffs. |

Simple solution seems to be you can only ice a cap compliant team in the playoffs
Cap is 84 million?
Take the cap hit of your 20 man game day roster, has to equal less than 84 million
you can still load up on players, but you can't play them all at the same time
How hard is that?

In the past ten days the Canucks beat Boston, LA and Vegas, not to mention they have 14 Americans and Swedes on their roster, they are gonna make a good run!! |

That would never fly with the owners or the NHLPA, if you're going to institute the cap in the playoffs then the players will want to get paid for the playoffs, which they currently don't, with a 50/50 split with the owners. |

If you remember correctly when I said that I said they would keep Soucy on LTIR until the end of the year unless they brought him back and replaced him with a higher LTIR like Myers. (my exact post). Looks like I was bang on.
I was then met by a few know it alls that said that does not happen in the NHL .
Rubey then posted a mocking post a day later about the Leafs bringing back Reaves and said he had been ready for three weeks. - VANTEL

Playoff revenue counts towards NHL revenue is included as part of the players 50% in relation to the cap
They don't get a paycheck during the playoffs, but the revenue is paid out to them in their regular season paychecks
