It frees up money, and you pick the guy who has potential to have a concussion to send down over the healthy guy. That’s all it is.

After a long NHL season for a rookie there’s zero reason to make him play more hockey if Leafs are out 1st round, especially AHL hockey.

Knies has 950 K cap so more cap space.

After the TDL they can send Gregor down without losing him if they made another trade.
