Vegas is executing cap circumvention. Their roster's cap hit is gonna be way over when Stone is back.

Who knows, maybe Klingberg will resurface for the playoffs.

We can hope he does not surface

So did Craig Button.

3 guys with opinions that don’t carry much water imo.

- Cush29

I actually think Johnson has very reasonable and good takes, I hate Button, he is just a pure hater.

Simmonds has been on the leafs recently, im not sure I would just dismiss his opinion.

Think for mejust put Dewar in 3C and move JT to wing line 2. Can take any d zone faceoffs over Domi or if he gets tossed out.

Knies - Matthews - Marner
JT - Domi - Nylander
Bertuzzi - Dewar - McMann
Gregor - Kampf - Reaves

Robertson

Reilly - Edmundson
Benoit - McCabe
Brodie - Lillybust
Gio/Timmins

Do t think we are gonna scare the big teams but never know... just get in and then hope to go on a real tear?!?!

On HB? Hard to agree since complaining is roughly 527,040 mins a year (this year anyways)
- Dozzer

You could cut that number in half by permabanning 1 person

He'd give us a different look on the PP. Still probably the best puck carrier on this team outside of Rielly.

If you look at all the trades that happened in the last few days, this seems like an overpayment for a 4th line forward to me.

Toffoli went for a 3rd and a 2nd. The Leafs paid a 3rd and a 5th for Lybushkin ffs. My gripe isnt specifically with the player. but what appears to me to be very poor trades. Why did they pay for retention for the previous players just to add Dewar?

People are activing like no good players ever come out of the 4th round.

Since 2000 here are your 4th round segments broken into chunks of 5 - bolded is where the Leafs would likely end up, barring winning the cup:

96 - 100: 1.1% chance of being elite, and 25.3% chance of being players.
101 - 105: 1.1% chance of being elite, and 17.9% chance of being players.
106 - 110: 1.1% chance of being elite, and 17.9% chance of being players.
111 - 115: 1.1% chance of being elite, and 20% chance of being players.
116 - 120: 1.1% chance of being elite, and 19.1% chance of being players.
121 - 125: 0% chance of being elite, and 15.8% chance of being players.

126 - 130: 1.1% chance of being elite, and 17.9% chance of being players.

There is less than a 1 in 5 chance of finding a player who will play more than 100 NHL games in his career and about a 1% chance of finding an elite player. This isn't a waste of assets. They can dump other guys and get a 4th back if they so desperately want one. Basically it's this to me - I can have a guy who may offer me value now as opposed to possibly landing a player who could provide that same value in 5 years - or if I'm ridiculously lucky, I draft a star player out of the blue in the 4th round. If your scouts like a guy that much - go get a 4th for the draft - you know what I mean?

They paid a 3rd for Lyubushkin and a 5th for retention. I'd argue that Boosh is probably closer to a 4th in value as well, but at the TDL some prices are higher than you'd expect. I still don't think Dewar goes for a much different price at another time of the year. Maybe a 5th?

No change Dewar is a 3rd line C IMO. Maybe they move Kampf up, or JT to Matthews wing. Where is Lybushkin?

You should study before posting lol

He’s a third liner, and he’s still 5’10” and 185lbs which isn’t exactly tiny.

- Dozzer

Boudreau said he is a 4th liner…solidly entrenched in the 4th liner role, not a 4th/3rd guy, he’s a 4th…lol.

Is he better then Lafferty who Tree traded for a 5th?
- Archaic

Yup. Lafferty has a whole 1 extra goal and makes $350K more and has been playing for a far better team.

For a second there I thought you said PK and I was very scared.

I agreed he could be ok on the PP, but I thing at this point after a long layoff, he will be so bad defensively it just cant work.

2 ex players and an ex gm dont know anything about the hockey
- drexel

Fine I know you love to be the one to throw out these types of “zingers” just to be contrary but I’ll explain more as that’s not what I said.

Craig Button was a joke of a GM in Calgary who put Marty St Louis on waivers with the flames, traded Giggy away for a 2nd round pick to protect Freddy Brathwaite in the expansion draft and trades Marc Savard away for a guy who never played a single NHL game.

He has such a great hockey mind he was never hired many an NHL team to do anything other than be a scout for (and this explains a lot) the Leafs in 2004. He lasted one year as an NHL scout.

Never mind his super hot takes now including today.

He’s a tool bag.

Simmonds and Johnson’s takes < than Biz and Bieska to me from the perspective of who has better insight into a player.

And is bigger, and led the league in short handed goals last year. So you agree then they are similar and a 4th was an overpay?

He is listed as Minnesota’s third liner on daily faceoff and they keep their site up to date faster than even the sports network guys go. For instance he has already been removed.

Lafferty was one of the best penalty killers in the league last year. He led the league in short handed goals.

Wife found it on sale on Amazon $9.99 for 12 boxes delivered!

It’s a great thing to have for when you feel sick and my wife gets killer migraines and this is one of the only things she can eat when she has one.

Mostly due to the fact it’s “easy to 🤮 up” - gross as that sounds. Her migraines are crippling and she 🤮 almost every time.

It’s brutal and I feel so bad when she gets one.
