That shark 🦈 game is a potential bomb.💣 That can erupt the whole season.

They always play terribly against the sharks for some reason.

I believe it has to do with the emergency recall rules. Ginning was up on emergency recall. Once they acquired Erik Johnson, they at the time had 6 healthy defenseman. That meant that by rule they had to send Ginning back. Once Zamula became ill, there was no time to get Ginning back.

Thanks. I'm sure you are correct. You are definitely an ace on the cap and movement rules.

No worries. Just sounds like you're disagreeing with me. I'm not offended by that. I'm OK with him getting mad at the refs and screaming at them. All coaches do it. He just went too far, after he got the penalty, refusing to leave. We all knew he was going to leave. Carrying on like he did just seemed to me like he was trying to get tossed. I guess maybe you could look at it like he was trying to get the team fired up maybe? IDK. Seemed like he wanted out to me. His former Lightning players seemed to find it pretty laughable too.
- Dkos

This is pure speculation but it seems to me as if it's possible that his former players found it humorous but not in an embarrassing way but more like, yea, that's Torts. I'm not a Tortorella fan, news flash, but I don't have an issue with the coach standing up for his team if he thinks they're getting screwed. It's most likely to result in team bonding in a us against them sort of way.

Brink not getting on the ice when they play 13 forwards including a washed Deslauriers and a waiver claim on his 4th team is horrendous on every level.

I want Torts to talk about it. I don’t want to hear “we have to turn the page” or “No comment”.

Let’s not kid ourselves, the Flyers have won recent games they should have lost. Florida twice and Tampa a week ago. This game was never going to go our way. With this in mind, Tampa doesn’t need help. The Attard penalties and the Hathaway misconduct were both extreme. Throwing out Torts was no different.

- roenick97

How was the Attard penalty extreme?

The Tampa player tried to pursue the puck and went between the 2 Flyers players as a way there. He ended up on his as$, while not being hit and both Flyers stayed on their feet. I don't see how that wasn't a tripping or interference penalty.

Hathaway pushed the envelope at a time when the refs seemed to be thinking it was starting to get out of control. It was unsportsmanlike of him to purposely put his shoulder into another player, well after the whistle.

The refs called it. Torts blowing up and getting kicked out and a bench penalty didn't help things at all. He looked like a clown.

I agree completely. Unless injure or sick, both Zamula and Brink should play every game the rest of the season into the playoffs if they make it.

No, Torts didn’t look like a clown. It wasn’t embarrassing. You can continue to fight this all you’d like but not very many people, if anyone would agree. In fact on the second Attard penalty, nobody fell on their “A$$”. The player briefly fell forward. It’s funny you bring this up because the real clown was the ref who called the penalty against number 23 for the wrong team, loud enough on the mic for everyone to hear.

I think that's about right. NFL seems to be the only league that tolerates abuse of officials.

Ummm...if I think Torts looked like a clown, then he looked like a clown. It was embarrassing to watch. You knew he would have to leave, and having a childish fit because he has been kicked out was embarrassing to watch. What? Did he think he could just say, no, I'm staying, and they'd be like, oh..ok. It was childish and cost the team another penalty.

Watch it again. Tampa's player ended up on the ice. It would be called a trip/ interference 100% of the time.

About the 13 second mark. Very clear cut call.

The ref screwed up and called Tampa for tripping, which they corrected to Attard.

He has been suspended 2 games, and fined for unprofessional conduct. He was wrong.

First of all, thanks for posting the video. I wanted to see the penalty. I've watched it re-watched it about a dozen times. After doing that, I can't come to a consensus on whether that is a penalty or not. It's a race for the puck. The Flyers going back have a right to fight for position going back to the puck. It looks to me like both Flyers tried to seal the Lightning player off. They have a right to that space. The Lightining player almost tried to squeeze through and with incidental contact, he went down. That's an iffy call in my view. It's a play I can see getting called or let go. The ref making the wrong announcement is a nothing burger. I agree it's kind of silly of Tortorella not leaving but I don't have an issue with him standing up for his team when he thinks they got screwed

Was at the game last night, before hitting the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg today. Both were glorious. It has become so easy to hate the Flyers, from ownership to management to coaching to sportswriters to fans. Have to feel bad for the players, though. No wonder the Flyers can’t attract free agents without overpaying.

To be honest, I think over half the calls on tripping and interference are BS these days. I just wish they would let them play. Like the call when someone stands on the other players stick...I don't think it's a call. However, in todays NHL, they do call these type of penalties.

The Flyers were having their asses handed to them in the first, and the Lightning were causing the Flyers to be hemmed in and to take stupid penalties. Hathaway's was just a dumb moment by Hathaway...it was to far after the whistle, and obviously done to provoke. The refs were having none of it.
I don't have an issue with him sticking up for the team. But he was told to leave, and stomping his feet and saying no was like watching a kindergarten kid being told it's nap time.
