Missed the game last night, for some reason our club decided not to show it.

I see Graves played 20:55, he must've played well.

I see Sullivan is going to force O'Connor to earn that coveted spot next to Sid. Hopefully he played well enough to bump Bunting down next game.

I think we are close to turning it around.

Well he has his best bud Geno to ask how to inflate your stats against bad teams.

Haha, we are the bad team.

Your goaltending....looks really good.
The rest of it is just disjointed. So many great players.

Great players at 5 on 5 most of the season (last week or so hasnt been good) but they've been terrible on the PP. Their body language, composure and confidence look completely shot when they get the man advantage. Its perplexing haha. Only 7 points out of a playoff spot with the 29th ranked PP at 14.6%. If it was middle of the pack, around 22%, they're in a playoff spot right now. So many one goal games lost where they went 0 for 4+ on the PP in the game.

They rallied a lot of games to tie it in the 3rd to force OT and then lose the extra point. Then there's been a pile of games they were in the lead and lost in the final minutes missing out on at least one point. All adds up...or doesnt add up... over 64 games....

No one gives a crap. They just don't. They are probably rebelling against the coach. I think similar was going down with Bylsma. Whatever happens this season or before the next, it has to start with the coaching staff change. Wholesale.

Rod the Bod didn't even have our Jakey out on the ice in final min trying to tie game....

I know it was just his first game back but Jake without Sid looked like just another player last night

No one gives a crap. They just don't. They might also be rebelling against the coach. There has never been much of accountability from Sullivan when players do whatever they want. I don't see it changing much. Has to start with the coach change.

They've been mostly trying hard to my eyes except that Caps game...I think their locker room took a big hit knowing they were losing Jake that night.

Dumb da dumb dumb dumbbbb

Which one is on a 1st line, 1st PP and averaging 6 more mins of ice time a game?

Smith has been in bottom 6 quite a bit...and yes, he's been a bit disappointing, no doubt...but he hasn't been as disappointing as you are dumb. Good luck with that.

- MattStrat

I’m dumb , one plays for the sharks with that noted 1st line along with the top tier offensive defenseman , the other with 2 generational players with Letang and the great EK that Dubas stole . And if you believe Smith was brought in to be in the bottom 6 you really shouldn’t call anyone dumb. MG has been better this year with out doubt for the same contract.

I edited my post a bit ... so you think they are just snake-bitten? To me it looks like half-assed efforts over the last week or so. I notice it during line changes. Where the players give up on the play, don't cover and then leisurely skate to the bench.

I think they just don't care anymore. Or maybe have nothing left in the tank.

I only caught the last few mins.

The thing is they added Jake and Kuz same time...and then made a line out of them. There's zero familiarity. Kevin Bieksa was part of the broadcast crew on Sportsnet for a game I was watching this week and he said he's been in locker rooms that were doing great, the team was doing great and everyone was doing good in their roles then management added players that took away guys roles and shifted the whole lineup and he felt negative difference from that point on. It happens. We see teams make the big moves at TDL and it doesnt pay off, sometimes f'n with the team's chemistry. Not saying that is whats happening with Canes or going to happen with Canes but I wouldn't be shocked at all if it does. One game with a brand new second line isnt enough time to know.

If Oconnor slots next to Sid it will be interesting to see where Carter fits on team Canada in the next Olympics.

Smith has played like 2 games with Sid. Geno is still good but he doesn't play at a generational level anymore. No one said anything about why Smith was brought in, or that they believed he was brought in for the bottom 6 (more examples of dumb), just that he'd been used in bottom 6 a fair bit.

Do you think its possible Smith could have more points if he played an extra 6 mins a game, every game, and was a PP1 staple all season?

I saw a team really battle to get that tied and go to OT last night. I saw players upset they didn't get the extra point. I see a team out chancing and shooting the other team a lot of nights just not scoring more than the opposition.

No hockey player wants to lose. None. They do not lace up their skates and go out on any ice surface wanting to lose. From rec/beer leagues to scrimmages to the pros. They play to win.

Yeah they may have screwed with some good chemistry especially with adding Kuznetsov.....That team will be totally revamped next year. They have like 8 UFAs and 4RFAs...they went all in this year likely last yr with many of them.

Sid's RW, fourth line of Zucker/Crosby/Carter.

Let's see who fits in with DOC and Matthews on Team USA right wing.

I thought Kuzy would be a good gamble pickup for someone... just thought the Canes were an odd choice. Might turn into Semin 2.0 there.

Very odd putting Kuzy and Jake together on a line (I didnt watch). Jake has been out with injuries and Kuzy has barely played this year. Can't imagine how you would think that would go good unless you really believe Jake has some chemistry magic.

Do you think it’s possible MG would have more points if he played with the Pens ( Gino etc) ? And do you think the reason Smith is playing bottom 6 is because he has played like a bottom six player?
Thats my point genius. MG doesn’t produce at 5 million and Hextall is a terrible gm . Dubas brings in Smith at 5 million obviously not to be bottom 6 he doesn’t produce but he is a still a forward thinking excellent gm.

Because there had been a few times in the game where the dude didn't know where to go. After a few really, really great shifts with Kuznetsov they started to look a bit lost. It'll come.

How much do we have to move up in order to have Dubas keep the pick?

I've been looking at draft rankings and besides Celebrini it's kinda all over the place with a mix of D and forwards.

Another reason to get rid of Sully sooner rather than later is to see if someone else can turn the ship around and get a glimpse of how the team will play/finish next year.

There will be 6-8 new bodies by next year, nothing this season is going to give you an accurate look at how they’ll play next season
