How's Keefe going to handle goalie starts going forward? Straight alternating seems logical. |

Yeah that is likely.
Pretty obvious to me who game 1 starter is though.
Woll is the better goalie and I don't think its close. Sammy always scares me in net..but I like him as a 1B. |

If forced to choose based on those options, the only logical response is to say (frank) you for making me choose you freaking egomaniac*.

There’s only 18 games to go. Keefe needs to choose his starter for the post season and roll with him. I know a lot of you won’t like it but hopefully it’s Samsonov because well… Woll hasn’t played all that good since returning. His GAA is 3.41 after 3 starts and it would be over 4 if it wasn’t for a game against Anaheim. He has had two games against the likely first round opposition for the leafs, Boston, and let in 4 goals in each of those games. Is that who you guys want to roll with? |

He came back from injury, lots of time to get up to speed for playoffs.
Also the Leafs played awful against Boston, team was going through the flu as well.
If anyone has eyes its easy to see which one os the better goaltender. Woll tracks pucks better, he is more athletic, he is more calm. Its a no contest.
3 games after coming back from injury isn't going to derail his skill set ffs |

I have this funny feeling that I’m going to be hearing you guys complain about this
They’ve got Samsonov starting tonight according to Daily Faceoff and rotowire
I’m not saying I totally disagree with you but no, that’s what a goalie is supposed to accomplish, bailing out his team. He lost those games and there were weak goals against him in both. |

Keefe said he doesn't want to overwork or underwork Woll right away, he will do every other game for a while now.
And quite frankly I don't put much stock into a handful of games coming off a long recovery. 3 games off an injury doesn't mean poop, its about getting him back up to speed.
Woll is the 1st goalie here since Freddy that actually has good mechanics and can calm the team down. Letting Freddy go was a terrible decision anyways. He is 100% the more talented goalie, there is no debate there.
He has a good head on his shoulders, which leads me to believe he can stay consistent with his play.
If we are sitting here 2 months from now and Woll has been consistently meh then yeah Sammy is your game 1 starter, but my confidence is high Woll will be able to get back up to speed and confident.
For the Leafs sake of a chance at a run here we better hope so.

Lmao overwork him? He hasn’t played in over a week.
This isn’t to avoid being overplayed, this is to avoid starting a weak goalie atm. |

I like McManus. I like the deal.
I like knowing McManus can actually score given the opportunity. He has yet to look Medusa’s lesser cousin in the eyes - you know, the one that turns hands to stone.
I think he’s a valuable guy to have. He can play up in the lineup if required and seems to have a better than average hockey IQ.
I like not worrying about him when he’s out there. - Woderwick
yes, yes & yes.
completely agree.
now hopefully they do something sensible with Simon Benoit, who like McMann has been nothing but a pleasant surprise
