Does this quote from Tocc validate both side of the Myers debate at the same time?

Reasons as to why Canucks want to resign Myers. RT sure speaks clearly.

I don’t know if I’d put him top 30.
Hughes carries him.
Hronek compliments Quinn as well, but he wouldn’t be getting anywhere near accolades if not for his partner.

- dbot

Hughes is having a very good season and playing together has definitely helped both of them but Hughes isn't bringing up someone that much.
Forsling next contract is 5.75 playing with Ekblad. Toews 7.25 playing with Makar.
Some others could be
Reilly (7.5)
Dunn (7.35)
Sanheim (6.25)
Sergachev (8.5) (Huge overpayment for not actually winning 2 cups)
Toews contract is right close to where it should be since it starts next year as well. Toews has 1 cup but is also going to be 30 and Hronek will be 27.

Forsling is getting the Florida discount but through similar number of career games is 50 career points behind Hronek. They have the same even strength points though.

Right shot D are hard to come by, that's leverage. Seravalli said it starts at 12M for Petey and 11.6. I remember back in the day it was 6.5 for Myers turned into 6. So I'd guess that the 8 that Frank says it starts with is going to turn into 7.5 and I'm okay with that. (because inflation)

He has been much better this year. Large part that the entire team is better, Hronek is taking a lot of tough minutes. Juulsen is not ready to take a top 4 role and in free agency, I don't think you can afford Hronek and another good top 4 for the price that Myers will take to stay another year or two.

Good comparables.
If he’s signing long term I could go with Dunns 7.35/7

Dunn only signed for 4 years. I thought that was a bit of an overpayment as well since Seattle another one of those Florida types.

The worst season the Canucks had under Benning was .421 win percentage. They finished 2nd last that year to Colorado who had with Mackinnon and Rantanen with .293 win percentage.

San Jose .300
Chicago .306
Anaheim .366
Columbus .417

Tanking is taking on a new meaning.

lol your trolling is predictable. However, even you could distinguish coach RT’s value of a player is in his utility and not remuneration.

Didn’t realize Celebrini was so sought after. Maybe we could trade to one of them ours for a score lol.

If you aren't sharp enough to see that we should not be re-signing Myers here then you can't be helped lol

Answer yourself this: how come no one else thats played with Hughes has scored so much? He's a great player, robin to batman and hopefully he gets locked up.

I understand it’s a challenge for you to follow simple things. I didn’t advocate anything just deducted Canuck reasoning.

RT is coach. He likes Myers play. Canucks were reported to want to sign him.

Well I'd agree with you but then we'd both be wrong. Two wrongs don't make a right here. Tocchet can have his opinion but the Myers situation is not really alot different than the Edler/Tanev situation. Just time to move on. I'd explain it to you but you head might explode.

He plays him 20 minutes a night, not exactly the backbone of the team there bud. He’s a number 4/5 dman, if he comes back at that value(2-2.5 mil) then ok. Otherwise, very replaceable player.

WTF? Comparing those 3 players when there is a new coach & mgmt is apples & oranges. RT’s opinion carries weight & RHD which Edler wasn’t don’t grow on trees

Excellent! I bet it's a very smooth transition and he impresses RT next camp. Too early for me to try and predict if he'll make the team or not.
