Police services don’t really take direction from city officials. They are by design fairly independent with a police services board never mind legislated requirements, rules, the police services act etc.

Comparing this to what is apparently happening in Edmonton (I hadn’t heard anything about what you’re talking about) is not comparing apples to apples.
