He's not likely to sign a one year deal. Teams with lots of cap space will be interested. Leafs will have other priorities IMO. With Brodie off the books, they will be looking to add d-men without over adding too much long term cap space. Re-signing Marner is also going to be a consideration.

I could see Lindholm maybe signing a 1 year 6.5 plus contract to improve his stats/interest and because the cap will go up further the following year.

There are a few players on the Leafs that still haven't figured out how to effectively clear the puck out of the zone. Tavares is particularly poor in the defensive zone. That extra stick-handle when a player is 8 inches from the blueline and gets picked off, pisses me off to no end. I've see many of the forwards do this. Get it the (frank) out, especially when there is 2 minutes left and you have the lead.

Get picked off. At least with an icing they get a bit of a rest and can potentially win the faceoff.

I am shooting for 66 or 77. Here is why....

Ovi got 65 back in 2008-2009.

McJesus just got 64 recently.

A couple of others have cracked 60 in recent years : Matthews, Pasta, and Stamkos.

Nobody has gotten 66+ since Super Mario got 69 in 1995-1996.

Last 70+ goal season was Mogilny in 1992-1993 when he scored 76.

I'd like to see Matthews beat Ovi, Stamkos, McJesus, and Pasta to become the highest scoring sniper currently playing. He needs 66 for that.

He needs 77 to blow them all out of the water put himself in Great One territory.

Edit for more stats : As of today, Matthews has played 65 games and scored 55 goals for a pace of .8462 goals per game. He has 17 games remaining, so he is on track to score 14.38 more goals for a total of 69-ish goals. So, 70+ is going to be difficult, but not outside the realm of possibility if he gets hot again.
