You'd rather see us get a penalty for someone who got hit by his teammates stick? Odd stance. - Tonybere
i feel like those are generally pretty obvious on replay and would be hopefully decided rather quickly. |

No, I don't want that to happen, and is it really happening that much? I do recall Laf getting falsely penalized for that. Don't want the game slowed down any more than it has been.
Example of the kicking motion the other night being called a good goal followed by the coach's challenge for Interference. If they looked at the goal it should have been disallowed after one look. |

Yeah I agree wit this. The high stick rule change should be a slam dunk. The puck over glass will be trickier. |

If goalie is pulled by concussions spotter/injury…replacement gets a warmup…
Another rule change I like. Remember when Igor and Georgiev had to do this. |

New coaches challenge: if penalty is called for puck over glass, they can ask for a video review to prove it did hit something…this is only for when a penalty is called. Cannot be used to call a penalty on another team. KEY: if you are wrong on this challenge, it’s a 5-on-3
Love this. |

5-on-3 applies to the high stick challenge too. can only challenge to say it's NOT a penalty. If wrong, you face a 5-on-3. |

Ryan Lindgren is just the kind of guy the advanced stats people are gonna hate, just like Dan Girardi was
he's gonna play hard minutes, penalty kill, late game intense game moments
if that worth a raise and long term contract this summer? who knows, but I guarantee you we will miss him the next few weeks, especially against Boston |

Last year, despite suffering a shoulder injury he was fine. His advance stats show that. This year he's been bad. Nobody dislikes him. But like Staal and Girardi before him, the Rangers hung on too long. Girardi and Staal ended up hurting them. They literally had to trade Staal for nothing.
Nobody dislikes Lindgren, but the discussion of his future should be started. |

Absolute truth.
Apparently metrics don't have a column for "Difficulty of Minutes" or "eXpected Sacrifice of Health." |

but Lindgren is only 26, the Girardi and Staal extensions were after that age, plus giving Staal a long term contract for that money was crazy after the eye injury |

sometimes I really do believe that these stats simply exist to just be contrarian to a player most people like

I still think if Lindgren wants a long term contract they should look elsewhere. I just don't think longevity is one of his strengths. |

I think giving him the Chytil deal (4 years 18 or so million total) is very reasonable
but no if the demands are longer term and over 5 mil per, of course they are going to have to strongly consider looking at alternatives

I don't think he is worth more than 4 mil per (max 4.2) and they can't go over 4 years like you said. I'm still not sure he sees the end of that contract. See Kevin Klein. |

I only sort of agree with you here. I don't think he has been nearly as bad as some believe. But I look at Lindgren as someone who is going to be crippled before 30. My issue with a Lindgren contract is whether or not he will be able to play until it ends. |

in any event, Im just not thinking that far ahead, I just hope he's ready for the playoffs.
What's done about him as an RFA this July can definitely wait.

Perhaps. The push back by Tony is fine, because I can't debate that. Because it's an unknown variable. But Hockeystatcards, NST, and Evolving Wild aren't conspiring to make Lindgren look bad. |
