Carolina is better than us.
- roenick97

What does that have to do with it? And I agree, but not by much. The Flyers have played the Canes well this year.

Again, you make yourself look like a fool. I've been watching Farabee play all season. You don't have a clue. You continue to look at one individual play, as small of a sample as can be and use hyperbole that missing the net on one shot is the definition of an OK player. You will never learn. Despite his slump, Farabee is still in the top 12 in the NHL in EV points for LW's. Only a few points less than stars such as Kaprizov and Mattherw Tkachuk
- MJL

That's right because clearly when I see Farabee play I immediately think I'm watching Kaprizov or Tkachuk ...

Normally I would tell you to stop embarrassing yourself, but in this case, please do continue .. what a clown show you are.

I like Torts, but he is really looking like a chump when he sends Shaw out to do the post game presser! Combine that with not putting offensive players out in overtime is gonna really start pissing me off and he doesn't want that! Didn't he learn his lesson last year when that dumbass strategy of two defensemen in OT failed miserably? What a douche!
- Phillywhiteout

Yep, I'll like Torts one day, then he does something to piss me off the next day. His OT strategy tonight might have been fine against a lesser team, but you have to go out strong and go for the win against a team like the Canes. He can be mind-boggling at times.

Not by much. LOL. They're ahead of the Flyers by 15 points in the standings.

Oh brother. You're an absolute lost cause. You've been reduced to now only being able to spew juvenile rhetoric and hyperbole.

Detroit just got Larkin back and they will be better now that he is back.
- Phillywhiteout

They will be but they've been neck and neck for a while. The Flyers are not out of a wild card spot if they don't stay in 3rd in the Metro.

Every point I made was concerning Farabee. You're being stupid. Do your own work. This is just more of the same nonsense from you. When you don't favor a player, you invent fantasy. Similar to how you claim that goals that Frost assisted on didn't have anything to do with Frost. You're a complete clown
- MJL

Funny, when anyone calls you out on your nonsense, they are a troll, but here you are calling someone stupid once again. Way to be a leader!

The Devils beat the Peg tonight, so the deficit is 7 points.
- Phillywhiteout

Wow, Devils beat the Penguins, eh? Sounds like a pretty weak arm wrestle to me.

NJ over the next 5 games in theory has an easier schedule then the Isles and Caps. Flyers are in a good spot to make the playoffs as long as Ersson stays healthy.

I don't agree that's why he did it. His mind games are always psychological but he doesn't use it to divide. In a convoluted and screwed up way, he attempts to unite. He is not going to risk losing the team and the buy in that he has from them. They currently like him as a coach, just for some short term boost that isn't going to amount to anything.
- MJL

Torts isn’t trying to divide but knows that benching Couturier is divisive due to the cred that Sean has. But he knows this isn’t the fragile team of two years ago. I think he feels some desperation because the team is lesser after the deadline with injuries, loss of Walker and players worn down. So he has to do something. But he has faith that the team will channel positively. The team is still in. He’s using that to basically say trust the plan. He gets a bump but that’s all.

I think you're over thinking it. It's nothing more than putting out what he thinks is the best lineup now.

The Pens are toast, but I wouldn't totally discount the Devils just yet. They recently traded for a goalie (Allen) that is playing well for them. Of course, they probably should have made that trade 6 weeks ago, but if they get goaltending they could go on a streak. They outshot a very good Winnipeg team 40-19 last night.

7 points back with 12 games to go. Devils are pretty much done. It would take a miracle. It would take more then them going on a streak.

Can someone tell me how the hell you play two shifts in OT and Frost, Tippett or Konecny do not see the ice?

Good god that is awful.

Canes announcers liked the Flyers game, I do like the Canes announcers, they call it straight. A tie gives Torts a chance to put Coots in, let’s see. The irony, benching Coots, puts Frost as 1C, have to love the irony, Torts, never a dull moment

Go with the defenders and the grinders. That's how you win in Tortorella's word.

I guess.

I couldn't believe they never saw the ice. I thought maybe he would go Farabee and Luaghton first but then follow it up with Frost and someone.

I couldn't believe your top guys didn't get a shift in OT. Guess that's how you win coach of the year.

So Torts only does the press conferences if they win now?

So are we going to be talking about other posters Richard size on this thread. I just want to be aware before I join any conversations.

It'll never happen but it would be great for the media to refuse to interview the assistants.

Shouldn't this whole situation have been really simple? Hey, Coots, I think you're tired. I respect you a lot and I think you need some games off. I'll take the heat for this in public but you're too important to grind into the ground. Let's get you a few games off so we can have you for the push.

Coots probably would still be pissed, but at least that's something you can work with.
