Are me talking millimeters to inches or meters to feet? Not that I care just wondering how the convo might work. - bird_dog_pa
We were called out for small penis energy or something yesterday. I guess my response of being black and not capable of having that type of energy was offensive. It’s a stereotype and an urban meth to those I’ve offended.
To answer your question though, I don’t know the rules to that type of “energy” |

I know this is just Torts playing psychological games, but to whose benefit? It seems like a needless distraction at a very important part of the season. Its just weird. - MBFlyerfan
Just asserting dominance. Slaps the C on a guy and then tears him down in front of the team. Torts might as well just lift his leg and pee on Coots for good measure.
(Paul Stewart mentioned recently that Torts is known to not only bully players and press, but team staff too. That's messed up.) |

I mean, all the talk is about him, does that take pressure off the team, could, but that is in contradiction of his mantra "I trust the locker room".

Tortorella preaches accountability, what a joke. He is both a hypocrite and a coward. The media should be ripping him a new one. - BiggE
I think the technical term for it is chicken poop. |

I’m not on the hate wagon for Torts but sending out Shaw is inexcusable. |

I don't understand it either. The Torts superfans will say they are winning so he is pushing all the right buttons. It just seems childish... - Flyfly
Speaking of winning. The Flyers have played 70 games. They've won 35 games and they've lost 35 games.

Little by little he is going to erode away. It's just a question of how much damage he does and how long he sets this franchise back.

I don't see it as chicken poop. He's never been afraid of confrontation. It's just hypocritical and shows how full of poop he is. He doesn't hold himself to the same standards that he requires from his players. He doesn't lead by example. It makes him a complete fraud that I've said he is.

By leading and influencing the team to the path that is not going to result in the team becoming a legit cup contender. His philosophies, strategies and tactics will not win in the modern day NHL. He is driving the bus in the direction he wants and it's the wrong direction.

I honestly have to explain this? If you're not on the correct path and it will take time until he leaves and when he leaves, they're no closer to the goal of becoming a cup contender then it will have been a waste of time and will have set the franchise back.

Do you honestly think anyone could lead this team to being a cup contender? Scotty Bowman on his best day wouldn't be able to that. Torts didn't build the team...the management that you like to bash on a daily basis did that. Torts has gotten more out of this group than pretty much any of us thought possible. Some of his methods tick me off too, but no need to dwell on it every day, as he won't be here if/when the Flyers become a legit contender. |

Does Couts get in tomorrow for Boston? - Flyfly I'm gonna say YES cause Boston isn't as fleet a team as the Laffs and Canes, and tends to more physical than those teams. There has to be some sort of method to Torts' madness. I hope anyway.

He is getting the most out of this current team and I think most folks would agree with that. They have some young guys contributing now and lots of draft picks in the next few years. As long as they keep their eye to the future I don't have a problem with this. Frost has been excelling lately and York is slowly becoming a stud, so Torts' methods with them must not have been that bad of an influence. |

I think it is a mixed bag. I do agree with what you said above, the kids are alright and DB has not done anything to mortgage the future, the opposite so far. Torts in the moment is just an ass, could that effect someone wanting to sign or resign here? Maybe but time will tell. It is easy for a players to say yea, Torts benching me helped. Truth, benching is fine, but when it is a toilet seat benching or a captain, it needs to be handled professionally, not from ego, power trip standpoint. I do think, if it keeps up, that could effect players wanting to sign here. This is easier because they are overachieving, what if they were not? I believe next year will be a step back, not a bad thing, just probable, if that is true, the Torts show will have bigger conseqences. For now, enjoy the run.

Tortorella is about the worst coach you can have for developing young players. The Flyers are a .500 team. That Tortorella can't improve a team has never been my contention. That he has not been able to coach this current team, this season to contender status has never been a point of criticism that I have offered towards Tortorella. There is not a coach alive who could coach this current team this season into a contender.

No, but the point is, his methods are dooming us to a perpetual bubble status, never good enough to win a cup or even contend, never bad enough to get the talent needed to do so.
