Coots' play has been suspect for the past 20 games. But his ice time has been lessened since he became captain... Is that Torts being butt hurt about him being named captain or was he holding him accountable? I can see it either way.

For the record, I dislike both. Can't stand Torts but he has got us playing well so I deal with it. I really admired Coots this year. I believe his contributions were highlighted during the first 50 games.

I just don't see how an organization allows the captain to be a healthy scratch back to back games while in a playoff push.

He spent the last couple weeks being used as a 4th line center often with Nic D. Hard to put points consistently with that type of usage.

It’s also not the players fault that the coach overused him early in the season while coming off a nearly 2 year layoff and 2 back surgeries.

There is no defending Torts on this one, just as there no one, at least anyone who is being objective, who can say the team is better without Couts in the lineup.
