I feel like there is a rich history behind this joke. Who played tag exactly? Whose asparagus field was it? Was it African or Venezuelan squat tag? - GalacticStone

Bruce Boudreau was in slapshot.

John Gofton was my coach. He was the drunk guy who told Newman he’d piss himself if he got hit. He had quite a bit of input in the movie due to his experiences playing in the minors.

His last name in the movie was Brophy. A bit of a tribute to John Brophy who apparently Newman's character Reggie Dunlop was based off of.

Wait,,,
YOU THINK ONTARIO IS LANDLOCKED??
I was on the coast 3 days ago!
Fort Severn.
I’ll graciously accept your L, sir. - Arctic_AARDVARK
You're welcome. Not sure if they shuck oysters up in Fort Severn. They do at this place though. They catch them right in the bay next to the restaurant. You should try it sometime. By the way, fresh sardines can be pretty good, the oysters at this place are super.

No no no…
Hold up, we’re not done with you being completely wrong about something 99% of people know.
We need to resolve this.
YOU THINK ONTARIO IS LANDLOCKED???
We’ll get to the oyster shucking in a minute, even though it has absolutely nothing to do with what we were discussing.

Arctic Char is amazing. - Arctic_AARDVARK
Last week you were in Alberta, which one is it champ? You also stated that Oysters are poor people's food didn't you???????? Now you change the topic to Arctic Char. Let's get back to the 59¢ tin of sardines you were raving about to go with your White Claw

You have me confused with someone else.
Stop deflecting, it’s not my fault you’ve never looked at a map.
Also, read a history book on NYC, and why people settled there.

My Junior B coach was in that movie. - Woderwick
I played Junior B, too. What a league that was. I was 17 in grade 12, and the guy sitting beside me was 21 yrs old and had a job as a mailman. 😂 I played against Eric Lindros when he played for St. Mikes jr. B. The guy was a mutant at age 15. It was funny how the vets always seemed to be sick for the long road trips on the bus.😉

Saw a chart showing toughest comp for defensemen... Brodie was right up there in the top 15 or so. Gotta keep him on the left side because he's looked so much better since they did that.
Brodie McCabe
Rielly Boosh
Eddie Lily
Benoit
Can Eddie play the right side? Not sure how confident I am in the playoffs with Lilybust when things get tight/physical. Benoit/Eddie seems like a more robust pairing to me.

tickets are insanely expensive.
good on you - dmnted
Concert tickets are stupid now. I don't think I have been to a major concert since Pink Floyd in 1994. I paid $100, which was a lot of money for a ticket back then. It was the most I had ever spent on a concert at that time. In hindsight, it was worth every (frank)ing penny and more.
Even though $100 doesn't go nearly as far as it used to, I still wouldn't spend that much on many bands now. I wouldn't mind seeing Page/Plant before they die or go in a nursing home. I'd spend $100 on that.

I try to see Plant each time he's been in Toronto.
He had a show on wedding anniversary, I told the wife who doesn't like to go to concerts that I was going with or without her.
It was an amazing with Krauss

Ive been to many concerts the past several years, but $100 is my limit, not interested in paying more for a band.
