I've liked Coots from the inception of his career.
He has played poorly for a stretch now. I don't think it is a mental issue. I do think he wore down due to over-reliance on his ability to retain his burst out of the gate.
Not gaming is why he had the initial strength and when the season eroded his stamina, we got this situation.
Coots needs maintenance days. He's a relatively young guy with a depleted body.
I'm hoping that the staff applies every medical 'miracle', PT, skating coaches, and whatever support we need to get him back to form.
He isn't less able to 'see' the ice', he just can't get to the places he's needed much of the time.
I'm hoping that he makes a rebound, even if it is not this year.
He deserves a better outcome than this trashy gossip fest.
