No that’s false. He wasn’t paid for past performance. As mjl continues to say. You absolutely sign him to that extension. That he’s a 1c.

He was extended and paid to perform as a top line center. Plain and simple. And he hasn’t performed to that level. At all. The fact he was injured is just an excuse. The fact is he didn’t perform for those 2 years. Injury linemates China flu asteroid hits earth. Doesn’t matter all excuses. Facts are facts.


And what did I who knows how stupid that extension was expecting? I expected exactly what was given by his performance. As a few others also did. That he would never live up to the extension.


It doesn’t take a genius to realize a dude with 10 extremely hard years on body who has recently dealt with a few serious injuries that was never elite (although very good) would likely break down quickly. Did I expect more than he’s done ? Yes. But never thought he’d live up to or EXPECTED him to be the build around player that extension was given to him for

I never expected him to perform at 1c level. With or without the injuries. His miracle 76 point seasons back to back were peak. Anyone watching knew this. Injuries started. 10 hard years on body. This narrative during extension of building around him was ridiculous.

It’s relevant because we see the same movie playing now with tk.

Yep. And should have felt that way when he had 10 years on body with extension for 8 more. Should have known very likely he’d be dealing with injuries. Especially since he had been getting more and more injured in recent past.


That’s why you can’t use any injury as excuse. It was very predictable
