I played yesterday with a bunch of Canucks in Glendale, it was a beautiful 26 degrees Celsius. Shot 79 with one stupid double on an easy par five F**K, three birdies though...as for the golf balls, yes, I'm a low spin player but I tried the new Chrome Tour X, that thing is great!!
- Pacificgem

Wow nice. I just bought the Chrome Tours not the 'X' model so we'll see where that goes. The non X model claims a bit lower spin off the tee but higher spin rates with the irons. I used that Titleist ProV1X 'left dash' last year to very good results so it will be super interesting to see if the Callaway can better it. Bloody weather needs to improve here lol

Oh for sure nothing is 'indigenous' to just the Canucks only lol many other teams have inconsistencies going into the PO's.

I don't think the Bruins are a deep PO team but FLA could be. Leafs I think are going to surprise in the PO's and while the Jets are very good will fizzle out. Av's still have the potential to go deep IMO. And while most folks aren't talking much about how good the Rangers and Stars are in reg. season I think they are capped at the 2nd round or conference finals if they make it that far. Dallas always seems to find a way out kind of like the San Jose of past years lol.

Either way it's gonna be fun to see Van in the PO's. Will be interesting to see their first round draw lol.

Whoever they play the teams are so close now they could get swept or sweep any series or go to overtime in game 7. Depends who is hot, goaltending ( Demko?) and a few breaks here and there.

I can't remember the last time it's been this tight at the top of the standings. There's 6 or 7 teams that can leapfrog eachother on any given night. I don't think any of those teams will be a cakewalk come playoff time.

I like that the Canucks are never in the conversation. Hopefully that puts a chip on their shoulders.

I think the Coaching staff will have these guys ready. They just need to stay healthy and get their PP in order.

That’s the key for Canucks and that Oiler troll sucking it when his team goes down.

Agreed. Should be fun when the rest of the country is cheering against the Canucks.

A Dman using a 4 syllable word. He probably had to have a nap afterwards.

Winning and losing streaks leading up to the playoffs don't really impact how the playoffs go. Stay healthy, keep consistent, and sort out the PP... they can win against anyone

Thx Yorkie

This long homestand hasn’t worked out that well allowing it to be a real tight push to fend off the Oil.

On the sad sack PP it’s what RT says & he needs to get his message through imo. This stretch drive has to get it figured out cuz come PO time it will be the difference. I said Suter lacks finish & Petey doesn’t add much to playmaking.

JTM shouldering blame says a lot about his character & leadership & could use more of it from Petey & others.

All in all they played pretty solid & lost a game they sometimes won in the past. That’s hockey & not the time to get down on it. The PK wasn’t impressive & still some warts on clearing the zone. Stars give no time & space & against teams like that we’ve been struggling a bit. The core as a group have to find another gear.

The sky is always falling in Canuckland, so much drama on Twitter right now.

On a side note, Vegas jumped over the LA Kings for a top three spot in the division. Which bumped the Kings down into a wild card spot. Nashville took a humiliating pounding at the hands of the upstart Arizona Coyotes, their kids are starting to figure this out as they filter into the lineup. Josh Doan with another great outing and Cooley with the hatty!!

You forgot the most important point, 6 back with 2 in hand.

Ya they've played well lately – especially at 5 on 5... they turned that into a strength throughout the season. The power play though has definitely been costing them. Not sure the reason for the big drop off, seems like they're overthinking it and in their heads about it, especially Petey.
- NewYorkNuck

PP is too static mostly. Only Hughes & Miller are moving. Lack of finish & greasy net front goals. Missing the net is useless. The drop off is fairly simple. When teams pressure the PP puck possession gets sloppy. When they don’t & they clog the middle there is no outlet with high danger players in position to shoot. Reversing the puck has looked bad when they choose it. Overall puck movement isn’t good.

They just need to dumb it down, to be honest, they're always looking for the pretty play. Sometimes you just need to blast the puck at the net and then crash the paint with as many guys as you can to bang home loose pucks. It's not pretty, but it's effective when you aren't scoring anything at all.
- Pacificgem

Totally agree. Low volume shooting & resets too often.

Clearly they've lost their scoring touch, well, everyone but Miller. Who continues to put up numbers. Pettersson, Boeser and the secondary scoring has all but disappeared.
- Pacificgem

Boeser feeds off of set ups but he’s been off his game getting in high danger areas to let rip. Petey just isn’t dangerous no matter what wingers he has. His all around game has been good but he’s paid & expected to create offense. On the PP he has 3pts the last 23 games.

Agreed, he is the guy when we play Vancouver who seems the most dangerous to me.
A very very good player.

- Rang

He & Hughes stand out more often than not. Others like Garland Joshua & Hog have looked good. It’s not enough.

Bought a box of the new Callaway Chrome Tour balls apparently this is the first time Callaway has offered the public the actual balls the pros use. Total new design to be closer to the ProV1s and such gonna be an interesting comparison to get out soon if it would ever stop fucking snowing here.

If you look at the recent history of all the top teams, they're all going through some inconsistencies right now or in the recent past. Everyone acts like this is unique to the Canucks, it's not.

The Bruins have lost three of their last four games.
The Panthers have lost six of their last seven games.
The Leafs have lost four of their last seven games.
The Jets have lost their last five games.
The Avalanche were hot but just lost two in a row.
The Rangers are hot, they've won nine of their last eleven games.
Dallas is hot, they've won six in a row.

- Pacificgem

It’s the pattern of how the Canucks are losing. Special teams mostly. Scoring 1st has been a strength but not of late & add in late period goals & blown leads it all adds up.

It’ll come down to the details & 60min hockey in the PO’s. Demko will be a big part of any success. Generating offense has really fallen off.

PO’s 1st round always brings surprises. Need mental toughness & smarts & full commitment & faith in the structure no matter what. Every team scouts ops on every detail.

- Oildrum

Most important point is any team playing at their best & take it into the PO’s. Standings are irrelevant cuz no easy outs.
