Honestly, Lekkerimäki and Pettersson's debuts went as expected.

Lekkerimäki was good, but adjusting to the lack of time and space–played a bit safe.

EP26 was a wrecking ball, and speed on the outside caught him a few times.

I have a feeling he's going to be a fan favourite

In terms of offence, I thought Lekkerimäki played a better game on Friday. You can tell he's going the motions of playing two-way hockey.

It's not easy to come over, skate in a single practice, and be expected to auto-adjust.

Given the circumstances, I thought he was good.

Good game to work some things out. Get more confidence going as well especially on the PP.
- Quinn's Quest

Yup…only SJ and the Blue Jackets allow more goals, get that PP going and get to 100 points, hopefully.

Heard Lekkerimäki has been playing the bumper on the PP. He’s got the IQ and shot for it.

If he shows well enough in Abby handling his D responsibility maybe just maybe the Canucks consider seeing him up for a game.

Twitter…

Art Ross update after tonight:

MacKinnon: 127 pts and 8 games to play.
Kucherov: 126 pts and 9 games to play.
McDavid: 125 pts and 10 games to play.

Could be only the 3rd season in NHL history with three players with 140+ points.
1989 had four with Lemieux (199), Gretzky (168), Yzerman (155) and Nicholls (150).

1993 had three with Lemieux (160), Lafontaine (148) and Oates (142).

Don't think there's a really weak team anyone is choosing to face right now. At least not in the West... the Flyers and Wings are trash bubble teams.

After eight years of that idiot Jim Benning, yeah, this has been a tremendous turnaround and a very positive year. #gravy

True, and I have absolutely no ill will towards the nucks, I just want the Oilers to pass them for the division title lol. I am actually really impressed with how well Vancouver has turned it around

Well there is this humongous Oiler troll who’s been saying that but gutless to honor an avatar bet for it.

Oil and Canucks will most likely be playing one of the Kings, Vegas or improved Preds in 1st round so it’s not a cake walk.

Oilers haven’t won a division title since 1986-87, which surprised me. They’ve only won six while in the NHL, which also surprised me.

True though it can be all about matchups. The Kings out D the Canucks and Vegas has the Cup pedigree. So perhaps it’s the Preds that are the better chance to compete in the 1st round to get that playoff muster.

I am not sure who I would want in the first round, PROBABLY the Preds, but playing Vegas earlier is probably better than later as the longer they are in the playoffs the more healthy the team will get. Kings I'm not worried about losing to, they are just such goons.

Excellent words here. Guess we'll see if Allvin/JR/Tocchet can get this club within 60 mins of the conference finals you know...like Benning and Green did.

Well we took out the cup champs St Louis a few years back we could probably give Vegas a good run in round 1 if they remained a bit injured. Ultimately the 1st round is usually the toughest but the Preds or Kings would probably be preferable. Would want to avoid the Oil at all costs IMO.

I would love a Van/Edm second round, that went for Calgary last time they were in the playoffs . Though I am the kind of guy who really just wants a Canadian team to win, so I won't be upset if you beat us as long as you win the cup.

It’s refreshing to have a roster that can compete & not accept any loss. Come a long way. Still a process going in the right direction. Gotta use these last 9 games to establish consistency.

Have taken major steps & this is another test to see if can close out the season in 1st. Won’t be easy but it’s in the Canucks hands.
