Why do they show emotion in the last 2 minutes of a game they are going to lose?

I dunno. Maybe losing makes them cranky?

If I had a choice between making the playoffs and losing in the first round, but Lou stays on…..or missing the playoffs and getting a new GM, then I’d go with the latter.

A new GM would be much better for the long term. Lou and ownership may want the Islanders to be a now team, but the roster just does not match that thinking.

The only Easter Epic we were treated to, was an epic disaster.

I know it will not be done until they are officially eliminated but they should reward the guys in the AHL and let's see what they can do one the big stage.

Agreed on the new GM. There is also nothing wrong with a now team, but you need to make it a now team. We are currently not even a half now we are closer to far from now.

This is correct. You cannot keep mostly the same team every year that is not good enough and think you will be a Cup contender.

I have no issue with Roy. He is dealing with a team that is past its peak. I would like to see a lot of movement at the draft. One that would not include Lou at the table making the decisions.

Shawn Horcoff, Detroit Red Wings assistant general manager
Horcoff was a fourth-round pick who had no guarantee of even making an NHL roster. He then went on to play 1,000 career games. Horcoff applied the same principles that made him a successful player to his career in management, something he has been singularly focused on for a while now. It's why someone who made nearly $50 million as a player took a hockey ops job that initially paid him about $60,000. He wasn't afraid of the work. With the departures of Pat Verbeek and Ryan Martin, Horcoff has become a key member of Steve Yzerman's brain trust (which is small). Yzerman has supported Horcoff to get experience in all facets of the job, from contract negotiations to player development.

Eric Tulsky, Carolina Hurricanes assistant general manager
The Canes are one of the best built teams in the league. While their farm system is growing, most of the NHL success is predicated off smart finds and efficient contracts. That's one of the area of expertise for Tulksy, who has been described as a "brilliant hockey mind." Tulksy was interviewed for the Blackhawks GM position in 2022 that went to in-house candidate Kyle Davidson. His knowledge and ability to think creatively are well-regarded around the league.

Ryan Hardy, Toronto Maple Leafs assistant general manager
The 36-year-old Hardy, who got his start as a Bruins scout, was on our list last year, after three years running the Chicago Steel of the USHL. As one respondent said in 2022: "He's got his s--- together. He's a great recruiter, well organized and runs a great organization. Running a USHL team is a tough gig." That caught the eye of the Maple Leafs, who hired Hardy last year to run the Marlies of the AHL.

Ownership has to understand they have options outside of Lou. I like looking at Boston, Canes. Tampa, and Dallas for possible candidates.

Wonder if Bridgeport calling up a guy from the ECHL doesn't mean someone (Iskhakov) is heading to the big club. Could just be an injury on BPT but now would seem like the right time to starting seeing what they have in one or two guys

I think the Islanders should keep Iskhakov in Bridge forever. Lou's vets have things well under control.

Seems like they should just be going back to the lines that they used when they went on that 6 game rip. These are bad.

Barzal is too good for this team. No idea what Roy is doing. He can go with Lou if he keeps this up.
