For this upcoming season it looks like they'll take a step backwards to some degree. The degree depends on additional moves made including the draft, as well as how effective a couple returning players can be.

That however changes for the 2025 season... And Allen will still be in his prime.

Would it be that shocking to see them go 11-6, win the division and lose to Kansas City in the playoffs again?

Talent, just through more talent at it, if that doesn't work throw more talent at it.
It hasn't worked yet, but my god it has to, someone said it on the Internet.

Ok, I'm over football for today, back to hockey.

Anyone else been impressed by Clifton recently? He looks like he's turning it around a bit. Adv stats still don't look great, but maybe getting away from EJ was actually beneficial???

The Sabres are so talented and close....all they need is a hall of fame coach to come in build a winning system for them to get over the hump....thats all.
- washedup20

Andrew Burnette, Lane Lambert or Gerard Gallant would all be fine. Just need a competent coach and to stop letting a career 4th liner run the power play.

It's still utterly baffling why that guy can't hold a job for longer than a year and a half.

Me too. Big, strong, fast and from LSU. Checks all the WR boxes for me. He's who i hope will fall to the Bills, but i don't think it will work out.

We've been hearing about "the run on receivers" for the past two drafts now, and I expect it to be the same this year, especially with the position being so deep. The Bills can't fall back on that excuse anymore. Figure out a way to get your guy.

I'm staying out of the "trade up for this guy" or "draft that, not this guy" debate. No matter who they pick, anything less than a homerun is a problem.

Looking at a Trade Value Chart, equivalent value of 2024 1st, 2nd and next year's 2nd gets you around 8-12. I'm considering next year's 2nd is equal to 1st pick of third round this year.

Beane has been great as the Bills Gm. Every move he’s made has been well calculated.

He knows what he got and what he’s doing

I’m not worried.

Excellent WR class

Trade pick 28 for Aiyuk

Then use pick 60 + 2025 1st to nab Thomas in the middle of the first.

Then use your two second rounders next year to get a 1st round pick

Aiyuk's acquisition would make this a lot better. Do we need to spend that to get Thomas if this is the case though?

I do like where your head is at here.

Watkins was ruined by this team and I’ll stand by that. They made him play through an injury IN A PRESEASON GAME

The parallels of incompetence between those early-to-mid 2010s Buffalo Bills teams and this current iteration of the Buffalo Sabres is frustratingly similar.

Yes. It isn't the same team with several key contributors having been jetisoned.
I have faith in Beaner filling holes, just not all of them this year without expecting breakdowns.

Like the Bills who will likely want to move up to "get their guy", maybe Kevy should consider moving up to snag Cayden Lindstrom.

6'4" 216 C who skates well (edges , balance, etc) but not "fast", good shot, high-end compete, physical power forward, good on the dot., solid two way game.

Could be a missing piece for the Sabres

Congrats every gm has misses.

I think you are the definition of the “old man get off my lawn” type person.

Beanes during a press conference said

Paraphrasing:

Our WRs didn’t get separation and didn’t get YAC. Diggs was apart of that problem.

He’s also 31. You think he still has his game breaking speed he had 4 years ago?
