Imagine the Sabres being in a Line Brawl like last Night to open the NJ VS Rangers game. Don't think the Sabres have the Balls or players to step up like that.

Now do the chiefs dynasty, how about when the buc’s won, the LA Rams won?

What about the lightning winning 2 going to 3 in a row, the capitals, the blues, the avalanche (Mackinnon setting a standard is not controversial unless your soft), how bad is it in Vegas?

And on and on and on, just another piss poor attempt by you to be create a false narrative.

The LA Kings haven’t won anything since half the team got busted for snorting 8 balls like it was going out of style.

Nobody cared that Kuznetsov was snorting 8 balls while carrying the Caps to a cup win but this year he spent two visits to the player assistance program.

I have a buddy who worked with the Lightning and I posted during their cup run when Kucherov punched an assistant coach. You really don’t think that guy is a jamoke ? But when you put up 129 points in a season it all goes away.

And those Kansas City Chiefs ?

How many sideline meltdowns did Mahomes and Kelce have this year ?

Kelce dead ass shoved Andy Reid in the Super Bowl.

Mahomes’ brother is a tool, his dad is about to do 10 years for a 3rd DUI, Kelce is out here doing Pfizer commercials and dating a known satanist in Taylor Swift, the Chiefs are also the team that Richarded around their best player in contract disputes in Chris Jones for the better part of two years and received tons of backlash for drafting the pregnant wife beater in Tyreek Hill.

Oh and Andy Reid’s son killed someone in a drunk driving incident and his sons sold drugs out of their house while he coached in Philly.

Are you implying that winners are scum bag people/organizations who hide a lot of horrible things?

These examples are of individuals, not teams. Ovie leads a team filled with bad culture because Kuz did blow?

Mahomes family is bad, so the chiefs locker room is cancerous?

You heard about a fight from a buddy, therefore the entire lightning organization is riddled with poor culture.

While also ignoring multiple teams I mentioned, these are not examples of bad culture.

Ror got a DUI, then called out Buffalo for being a poopty place to play, only to go on to immediately win a cup with his next team and become a respected leader throughout the league...guy is a mess of a person, horrible culture.

Every 20yo in the cap era who hit 30+ goals:

— Ovechkin
— Matthews
— Crosby
— Pastrnak
— Monahan
— McDavid
— Malkin
— Laine
— Kopitar
— Evander Kane
— Bergeron
— Toews
— Stamkos

And now, Wyatt Johnston.

Rosen was a home run pick, we don’t hear about the horrible culture down in Dallas, regardless of how many successful prospects they draft and develop.

- washedup20

Hell of a pick by Dallas, as was their 2nd round pick in the same draft, and their 1st round pick the prior draft.

Huge difference is how many quality vets they have to help lead those prospects.

Chasm of difference between Benn, Pavelski, Seguin etc. compared to the drek the Sabres have had.

The need for quality veterans is beyond obvious, or at least it should be.

I think the term "culture" is generally misunderstood. In Buffalo, we have this notion that it means a room full of guys that have good to great camaraderie. Both the Bills and the Sabres have it, and yet only one of these teams have put up results worth talking about, positively at least, and neither have really got to a championship let alone won one.

The 90's Bulls, possibly the greatest dynasty in American Sports this side of digital era, if not ever, was a team full of characters. Jordan was (is) a gambler, and also constantly eviscerated his General Manager, Pippen had issues with just about anybody and everybody, and Dennis Rodman was an absolute weirdo. Hell, Rodman even disappeared for almost a month on some sort of orgy in Las Vegas in the middle of the season, and they still won a championship that year. Yet, when it came down to it, they could be or do whatever the hell they wanted, but when it mattered, winning came above all else. That's the "culture" you need.

I don't think Stephon Diggs was a cancer, nor do I think he hurt Buffalo's "culture". His effort was never in question, and neither was his desire to win. He's just a strange dude whose personality wears on people after a while. I have little doubt he will be effective in Houston for a year or two, especially given how good that receiver group is already, and then things will grow stale. At that point, he'll either move on somewhere else or retire.

Of all the analysis I watched/read yesterday, there was one thing I took away that I agree with the most. It's better to move on from a player a year too early than a year too late. I do think Diggs's season last year was an anomaly and that he will have a good year in Houston. I don't think those same numbers would have the same impact in Buffalo especially given how much better Houston's receiver group without Diggs is better than Buffalo's even with him.

There are 3 outliers in your list of 13 who have accomplished a feat in the CAP era institutes in the NHL in the 2005-2006...so 19 seasons.

I updated your list with their respective draft position. Once again, the Top 5 Picks dominate the likelihood of success, including this feat... 9 of 13, and 1 other was 6th.
Only Pasternak and Bergeron were outside that group... HoF's to be sure.

I wouldn't count on anybody, even 1-OA's to emerge by age 20 and pot 30 goals.
Hell, less than 20% of skaters have 25+ goals this season so far. (70 of 375-ish). The Sabres have JJP and Tuch in that list... W/ that dreadful Skinner at 24, lol.

Moral of the story seems to be draft in the Top 5 every year... Not many fans would like that.

Agree, guess it really depends on how Beane finishes his Offseason. Guy might have another surprise up his sleeve, he does have about 24mill in cap space right know with another 10mill coming in June from the White cut.

Is that right? I thought I heard Beane himself say they had about $7 million before the trade and used up another $3-3.5 with the dead cap, not inclusive of Tre White's post June release.

I would give up a 1st round pick to the Flyers to get Torts here but, he is considered an " OUTSIDER" and Adams and CO do not like that. They don't want anyone to disturb what they are trying to accomplish........................ for the last 20 years.

This is the only think that should have been discussed at Skinners pregame honoring

Tonight, Jeff Skinner will become the first player in #NHL history to reach 1000 regular season games while never making the postseason.
