I wouldn't be surprised to see UPL go to arb.

That comment about "doing it elsewhere" has me worried too.

Looking at recent SC wins, it's tough not to say defense. Each team that's won has had a pretty elite top4 if not entire top6. But I think our forward group has more potential overall. Dahlin is about at his peak IMO and while RyJo is interesting, he may not be this sure fire top4 some thought. Meanwhile, Petey, Tage, Quinn, Cozo, Tuch, Benny and all these 1st round forwards can really make some waves.

Agreed?

No,

I think all 3 areas of the roster are flawed. Each area is missing key characteristics that round out a winning roster, and none of the desperately needed characteristics are in the prospect pool.

I think next season by Christmas, Adams roster will be a bottom 5 team and he'll have no answers.

What area of the roster do you think has the most potential, helps the team win now, highest risk of failure?

Offense

Defense

Goaltending

- washedup20

Most potential is offense I think. But you could argue for any of the three.

Highest risk of failure is offense as well, again IMO.

Something to the effect of:

You battle to be a starter or gain recognition, then if you have to, you can do it elsewhere.

You're right that the offense has the highest individual upside, as a collective...they stink.

What would a Roy contract look like?

Adams already spent $26,533,333 on 4 dmen. What % of the cap should go to defense...on a team known for piss poor defense?

- washedup20

Matt Roy's predicted deal is 4 years at $5.6M per.

I'd be shocked if Jokiharju isn't traded in the offseason.

So for him to even entertain Buffalo the floor is $6.75mm.

What do you think Adams could get for Joker?

Yeah, sad.

If it makes you feel any better, Levi will be the better of the two goaltenders and we're going to lose one of them to expansion either way.

I do agree with some others that say each area has the three attributes apply to them. That is likely due to inexperience of the collective groups

Offense - Most potential. It showed up last season, and disappeared for this season. They have shown glimpses of being a machine, they just need to get back to it consistently.

Defense - so much promise...could easily be The most potential, yet without proper coaching and mentors, they are at risk of being the most disappointing and risk of failure.

Goaltending - helps the team win now. Both UPL and Levi have generally been pretty, pretty good for the most part for the past couple / three months... And they each have had stinkers.

Think you nailed it with having the right Mentors, think the Forward group needs one just as much as the D does though IMO. And Wilford needs to GO!

Management would be making a terrible mistake getting rid of either of them until they price themselves out.

If Levi is Starter with some other Eric Comrie as back up we are dooooomed again.

Don't read Lance's article. Pretty clear that Donnie, Kevy and Marty will be back. Ellis will be the one to go. As you said, all is well.
