First of all...obvs and second, that spelling might still not fit on his jersey. Maybe shorten it to Bust-Bust or Just-Bust.

Well I'm greedy, i don't want either or, i want and or plus so keeping KK and adding a player where it doesn't cost you an up and coming player is the only way i make a deal if there is one to be had.

20ish better than him, we'll see but the crazy thing is because we only have 1 really good forward we all don't know what his and Vlasics real value is on the offensive side of the ice.

I'm greedy too, that's why I want a RS Dman that will challenge for a pt per in the NHL and a forward that will challenge for 50 goals in most seasons. In the same draft!! ..... And how often will that opportunity present, if ever??

That said, 99.9999% chance KK is a Hawk next yr and probably should be. And I'm good with that.

Vlasic will be an $8m per year defenseman in a few years. His agent will never go 8 years at that amount.
- rpeters01

It's not looking like he will be worth $8 mil per year unless his takes a big upswing on the offensive side.

Was just reading an ESPN mock that had the Hawks taking Levshunov at #2 and
Michael Brandsegg-Nygard at 20.

I would not be upset with those 2 picks. Prefer we go with a scorer with the 1st pick, but like Levshunov's game (and unlike Demidov he has been playing in the US for the past 2 years.

One guy I’ve seen a few times is defenseman Henry Mews of the Ottawa 67s. About 6’ tall, a really good skater, exceptionally mobile, great edges, quick and fast. He’s a pretty decent offensive defenseman who joins the rush, can manage a powerplay, he’s a good passer and has a very good shot. But like many offensive defensemen, playing defense isn’t his strength but he’s not terrible either. He’s constantly ranking late in the first round, he may be a good pick up if he’s available in the second.

Looks like Snuggerud is going back to MN for another year. I'd bet a month's salary that Moore will do the same and join him.

Consider a guy like Evan Bouchard for example, at
age 19 he played 7 games with one point, that followed up
age 21 14 GP 5 points,
age 22 81 games 43 points,
age 23 82 games and 40 points, to this year
age 24 72GP and 76 points this season so far. He started to get it around age 22 and really didn't break out until the post season last year when he really started to click.

BB, this is a helpful post for me. I really did not know Bouchard was up to a pt per game (I am an eye test observer for better or worse). This was a guy I kinda hoped the Hawks passed on in his draft yr preferring Dobson but that isn't the point for me. ...... I have a blind spot for slowish big Dmen that fill a scoring role even though I skew to bigger players. Guys like Bouchard, Doughty, Clarke. Guys with more IQ than physical traits.

Makes me wonder if Levshunov is the defensive prize, of many, in this draft. He fits with the Doughty like player and is showing that as a 17 yr old in the NCAA.

The Hawks have a couple prospects that have been a pleasant surprise, at least on the offensive side of the puck. Both Kantserov (2nd round in 2023) and Lardis (3rd round in 2023) have been lighting the lamp this season. They’re still a few years away from being NHL contributors, but they’re off to a great start.

Very much like that Commesso is getting better as the season goes on. Love his pedigree of being an NTDP goalie and his path of USHL to 3 yrs at a top NCAA program and now in the AHL.

And as we all know you not only have to hit with top 5-10 NHL picks you gotta unearth a/some Dcats in rds 2 and lower to be a top 5 NHL squad. That Kantcerov, 2nd rd pick, is getting 14:00 TOI in the KHL playoffs as a 19 yr old is very encouraging.

The hope is he's one of those Dcats an organIzation must have/find and so far so good.
