WTF was Casey doing on that goal

Dropped to one knee to block a pass to a player who was two strides ahead of him

Yeah, Casey was real slow to react to that play.

That first period kind of sums up the Islanders' season... Good effort, mostly dominating play, but losing to one of the worst teams in the NHL.

Yet another fundamental defensive collapse. Pelech overcommits to Bedard, who throws a magnificent pass to a player both Dobson and Cizikas let breeze by them without picking up.

And where was Dobson on that play? Pinching in? I really think that the Isles' best chance is to play a more conservative game. They just don't have the offensive talent to get into a track meet with other teams. Trotz recognized that, which is the main reason why he had more success with this group than his successors.

Dobson had Casey as support no issue with the pinch but Casey played it poorly and then Pelech needs to play the pass better on the 2 on 1.

At some point when an Islander has the puck, SOMEONE has to go to the net.

They play too much of a perimeter game. Guys away from the puck don't move into soft areas. They're an easy team to defend right now. I guess they're earning their fate.
