At the end of the season, I never saw a team make the playoffs based on point percentage. Have you?
- jd250

The 2019-20 season ended abruptly with teams having played an uneven number of games and I think (not certain) that the NHL had to use points percentage to set the playoff teams.

Ah .. I see .. we are back to blaming the players Frost is playing with. Got it.
- jd250

Nope. Just saying when he plays with real with players he drives play and goals occur pretty regularly.

He is on the roster. Gurianov-RyJo-Brink. Coots is out I assume. Sit Atkinson and ND. Can't be as crazy as playing a goalie that has been in north america for 12 minutes.
- mickel25

wonder if practicing or traveling with the team? probably not i guess.

Live hockey is fun to watch. Especially at $35 a ticket.
- mickel25

I myself wouldn't give the flyers the salt off a pretzel at this point.

family had season tickets from 83 up until a few years ago.

Ok, he has been playing with the two best wingers on the Flyers roster, so he is playing with real players, right?

In the end, this is not about Frost. Our wrath should be towards the Power play which has sunk the season for the Flyerso

He is "hurt". I have not seen anything about him practicing or even taking reps. My assumption is he will never put on the Flyers uniform.

Seems like they could use him though. Especially when Coots is out.

Here's an idea. Why don't you just root for the Sabres you fraud!! You know, the team that has missed the playoffs 13 years in a row with their brilliant rebuild.
- Phillywhiteout

Yep I’m the fraud… first off Buffalo had 95 points last year. Missed playoffs by 1 point… they have exactly 1 less win this season than Philly. Whoopty (frank)ing do. Congrats Philly got some extra loser points throughout 82 games.

And what is this rebuild you speak of concerning Buffalo? As I’ve pointed out numerous times (frank)head Murray tried to rush a rebuild and go all in during beginning of rebuild. Wasting top picks for players. It set them back 5years. Not to mention in Buffalo having Kim pegula in charge was ownership issue. Please stop comparing Philly to Buffalo.

I agree but you go out of your way to make it about him. The powerplay has definitely been a killer for this team.

So working with the goalie coach and taking shots in a non game environment isn't practising? Not a full scale practice, but yes he has been on the ice with the coaches.
- TheFreak

Agreed, but clearly Fedotov has still not had a practice with the team. That will happen this week before Friday's game I would presume.

I have been complimentary of Frost lately. But since Torts mentioned soft and some players don't have a clue about how to play in these pressure games, I have to assume Frost and Farabee are at the top of the list. And honestly from what I saw from them last night, they should be. I have been dying to see Frost out there 3 on 3 and he finally got his chance last night and what did he do? Skated the puck back into his own end zone with no need for a line change, but allowing the Islanders to change, and then gets completely indecisive, gets his pocket picked and the game is over. It was one of the most disappointing outcomes I have experienced in quite a while, for the team and the player. And Frost deserves criticism for it.

You're right, it's all the coaches fault. The players have no accountability here. They are simply victims of the evil Torts.

You have your head so far up Torts colon you just can't see the light. You cry about folks criticizing Torts yet you are constantly singling out players you hate.

There was a morning skate I think, but no practice as far as I know. The team has not been able to practice because Torts said it was more important to get the players rest, which prompted the question in the post game last night.

I don't hate players .. I have a ton of respect for players. I call it like I see it. When certain players play well I say it, and when they don't I say that too.

The amount of time and energy spent hate watching this team by parts of the fan base is really impressive.
- psuhockey

Here’s some context…
I’m from Buffalo. 49 years old. I’ve spent my ENTIRE life a flyers fan. For the past 2 DECADES as tech has allowed I’ve watched every damn game and before then whenever it was possible.

I’ve gone to see Philly in other cities
I’ve gone to Philly probably 20 times to see them
Bought jerseys hats socks boxers sweatpants shirts sweaters countless souvenirs
Literally spent THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of real dollars on merch alone

For me to support team and go to a game in Philly or another city I have to provide transportation tickets hotels food etc etc etc. use vacation time from work or spend days off to see them.

I’ve spent probably 100k in real money invested in this team

So yes after (frank)ing years and years and years of complete support that cost me more in time and money than a local Philly fan after watching the clear money grab by ownership and hearing the excuses and bs I feel I’m entitled to unload a little at some point on them.

Maybe if more locals did in Philly they’d truly be held accountable but no… instead local Philly media AND fans suck up to them and push the status quo bs. At least too many of them do.

And yes I watch and follow other teams. Always have and yes I like more and more teams a lot more than the past and it’s because my favorite team simply doesn’t seem to learn.

And for the record no matter where I go outside Philly the flyers are a (frank)ing joke. Have been for a long time with their broad street bully bs and all. Everyone around league laughs at them. It’s (frank)ing embarrassing.

The good thing is that Briere is already stuck with a bunch of dead cap and bad contracts, so I doubt he's going to be OK with doing another Hayes-style deal. Johansen, Petersen, Deslauriers and Atkinson are all buyout candidates.

LTIR - may never play again
Ellis - 3 x $6.25m
Risto - 3 x $5.1m

Dead cap
Hayes - 2 x $3.57m

Buyout
Angelo - 1 x $1.67m

- Feanor

This is exactly why I said I have some good will towards DB. Don’t listen to what he says, look at what he does. He traded Walker and took on more dead space. Guy knows this team is 3-5 years away from competing for the cup. Playing the long game but giving the fans what they want. I’m not 💯 a fan but he is going in the right direction, IMHO.

Oh sure, because Frost single handedly made that play happen right? I'll give him credit for getting to the dirty area to pot in the rebound, but that play was set up by Drysdale and TK. But let's stay on topic. Did Frost look like he had a clue in OT, yes or no?

Predictable response by Torts, he has been nice and trying to support them through this stretch, he took last night to publicly embarrass them, using his last trick in the bag.
