I disagree. The Flyers needed a top 4 lefty vet to pair with Drysdale and Seeler was cheap and here already. If they didn’t resign him they would have had to bring in another guy in the offseason.

There are a few of these players that have potential and will be here if and when that happens but this team in the here and now even being in a position to compete for a playoff spot was a shock to me whether or not the teams below them at the time who have put on their surge to surpass them now wasnt expected.

The horrendous PP is the result of that lack of the talent you need to progress into being one of those teams. Cant expect middle of the pack numbers from a bunch that wouldnt be higher than the 3rd line on the majority of teams in the NHL with a couple of exceptions

Atkinson plays with pace, he skates hard, he looks like he is battling as hard as anyone, he LOOKS like he is moving fast....but accomplishes absolutely nothing expending all that energy.

Regardless of the disappointment, it’s was finally a fun year. There was hope. GMDB did the right thing by selling on Walker. Maybe missed some opportunities but could be a fun off season. I just it’s not the penguins in the playoffs

Weeks after…I’m still on the fence with Seeler…lol.

I watch him play and see a guy that could be the # 6 on any blue line in the NHL. He’s not overly expensive and brings intangibles that others simply don’t. I guess if I knew what offers were for him I could agree he should have been moved but if it was only a mid to late round pick I’m fine with him as a player, staying….age wise the signing is cringe worthy, but I get why they kept him.

I think the culture is a real thing. It has improved this year.

I think some of the younger guys have taken steps. I now see some players whom you can move forward with.

I see a team that until game 70 was in pretty much 95% of games and made it easier to tune in every night.

I see DB still sitting at the cross roads and I don’t know why? It’s apparent what they should do. They have the buy in from the fane base. It doesn’t have to be complete tear down. They do have some pieces that are worthy of developing.

This summer is now huge. They can’t afford any more Cutter Gauthier scenarios…not like they could afford it to begin with…it still is a massive failure for this franchise and may still set them back.

I won’t toot DBs horn…but I also think he deserves some time. If he comes out and says there won’t be any changes or it’s going to be a quiet summer, then i think we’ll have our answer about the quality of GM we actually have.

I think it will show how long they view this rebuild. If they buy them out they intend to stink for two more seasons. If they ride it out, they view the summer of 2025 as a time to starting adding serious UFAs.

I liked the Provorov trade if only because they brought in Sean Walker.
I may be in the minority…but I really like the Hathaway signing.
