Vesey on the first line is fine. Not ideal, but fine. I prefer him further down on the 4th because it lengthens the lineup immensely as he outmatches a lot of other 4th line players.

Even if Roslovic is a net nothing on the first line, he just needs to not be a liability. Play good defense, wear down the opposing d with a speedy forecheck, hopefully chip in some opportune goals.

That's part of his problem, he doesn't.

Definitely agree here. However, if we aren't using Roslovic, who should we slot into that spot? Kakko? He has been great in his role on the 3rd line and seems like he thrives with those teammates as opposed to 20 & 93. Limited options unfortunately
- NYR11

I think Kakko’s problem when he gets moved up is he takes a backseat to Kreider and Zib. He doesn’t try and take control the way he does on the 3rd line and defers a lot to the other 2. I wish he’d play the way he does on the 3rd line on the 1st line.

I would rather keep Kakko on the 3rd line, having a dominant 3rd line that can take advantage of matchups will be key come playoff time

Idk what you’re getting at lol. I can appreciate that his defense hasn’t been great, but I’m still going to root for him to play good defense.

About 2 weeks ago I thought Rempe would play come playoff time. I just don’t see it anymore unless an injury happens. Lavy just doesn’t seem to trust him quite yet

Yeah, he almost plays timid like he is afraid to make a mistake with them. Plays hot potato with the puck to much whereas on the third line hes possessing the puck deep in the corners, working the boards, and making decisive plays with the puck. It's interesting to see the difference in play from the same player. You have to think its a comfort thing or that he just plays better with hard nosed players like Cuylle & JBrod. That third line can be a real problem for opponents come playoff time so I dont love the idea of breaking them up. I also dont love the idea of Vesey being rolled out on line 1 come playoff time either

He’s intimidated playing with them, like u said, afraid to make a mistake. The confidence Laf has gotten this year I wish Kakko had gotten also.

Rempe isn’t there just yet. He needs another season or 2 to work on his skating and add some more muscle. Good as a callup, not sure he’s a regular just yet.

yeah, ultimately I think they need to send him back down, although I totally understand why'd they want him to play the Islander games coming up

Nothing to get at. This conversation, and the decision to bench/scratch him from Laviolette is warranted. He's not playing well. And if he's not going to chip in offensively, then he's not a fit for the 1st line RW.

And Jim shows up early on a Monday morning to pick a fight with Tom.

Wash, Rinse Repeat!!

When Sam and Joe start talking about how Mika hasnt been producing 5v5 like they did during last nights broadcast and say the playoffs start a new season so he has a chance to start over, Its a real problem!!

I’m surprised Edstrom hasn’t gotten another look. I thought he looked much more NHL ready than Rempe. Also, has Othmann just fallen off a cliff? I feel like he’s been at 18 goals for 2 months now.

Game score average up to this point:

Kreider: 1.01
Zibanejad: 0.85

It's almost like the eye test, counting stats, and analytics match...

One advantage- it does give Lavi the flexibility to double shift Bread or any other hot player in that spot.

I mean we're talking about Zibanejad and Kreider, right? Eye test people say no problem with Zibanejad. Counting stats and analytics say otherwise. So to the people that have seen Mika Zibanejad not playing well, they should just be forced to ignore it? Was he better for a portion of March? Yes. Did he have good game last night? Also yes. However, if you think the Rangers can win a championship and also have their #1 center play this inconsistently, then I don't know what to tell you.

Imagine your number 1 center playing the way he has (on his way to a 70+ pt season) and only being 1st IN THE ENTIRE LEAGUE? Must mean well go nowhere in the playoffs. U should just stop watching the games, no point if u already know where this season is headed.

Didn't Edstrom get hurt? Could've sworn he did. But if not, then yeah I also don't understand why they haven't recalled him to see if he can play more consistent minutes on that fourth line
