I’m in my glory with this collapse. I’m loving see people upset with this poop team. Validation to thy self for not wavering on opinion of the poop team they actually are. Come to the dark side people. It’s great over here railing on them. |

Offering a dissenting opinion and criticism does not mean that I'm required to meet your mandate. Of course you're not surprised by the response. That's your problem. - MJL
I would have no problem answering this question. |

One observation and one question....
Stall appears to fall down a lot, or is this my imagination?
Why does Frost play net front on the PP and not half-wall? Frost is neither big nor adept at deflections (literally the opposite of JVR), but he seems to be very good where there is a little more space on the half-wall, where he is able to utilize his puck and passing skills. Is that Tortorella not wanting him to succeed or insisting on putting a square peg in a round hoe because that is what he wants. |

Frost has the quickest hands in tight and they don't have anybody else to put there is what I'm guessing. |

Holy hell... they're actually selling these at the official team store now?

Just one of many round peg/square hole questions this team needs to answer.

Of course you would. You're not capable of providing an accurate answer on anything on the sport of hockey.

Been giving this some thought as I watch the Flyers implode down the stretch here. I have already stated my unhappiness with Tort's reluctance to play Attart and Ginning, his inability to give Lycksell, who has shown good promise, more minutes, his approach to OT and his rediculous post game pressers. And now I am thinking, maybe Torts was the reason Gauthier did not want to play for the Flyers. And maybe Torts will be the reason a good young player like Rizzo decides he wants to be a free agent. I think Briere and Jones really need to have a sit down with Torts and figure this out and do it soon. Maybe it is time for Torts to move into a front office role for the remainder of his contract. And Maybe it's time for Briere to install his choice for coach, which I hope will be outside of the organization. |

Torts is a money machine for them lol.
And also the release of that shirt coinciding with a total team meltdown is hilarious.

At the end of the season all they have to do is add the word “golf” in front of balls and they will see another cash infusion |

Let's apply some simple common sense. At the end of Gauthier's NCAA season last year, when he wanted to sign with the Flyers. Who was the Flyers head coach?

We'd like to believe that Danny is this voice of dissent but what's more likely is the three of them just jerk each other off in total agreement most of the time. |

And it's only year 1 of the rebuild. This has been an epic collapse and I'm sure this will play into player evaluations; I mean it has to when you lose 6-2 and 9-3 in back to back games against bottom dwellers. But through this entire year, Briere and Jones have no wavered in their opinion of this team, that they are not close to a contending team. I for one am looking forward to the off-season, because I think many moves will be made. - jd250
Unfortunately they haven't started. They started winning and deviated from the plan. Trading Walker doesn't change that. |

Drysdale is very inconsistent. Some games I see the skill and talent and think he is going to be pretty good. Other games I think he's a young defenseman lacking hockey sense who offers nothing but good wheels.

Just posted this on previous blog, same point...
In the OT loss to the Isles, our guys threw everything they had at the other team to equaluze. The Isles repeatedly had to ice the puck just to get a respite. This went on for a good 3-4 mins. Unrelenting pressure.
Then the mistake by Frost, just the freakish thing that happens sometimes....
But in the presser, Torts threw the entire team under the bus. He did not say anything about the fighting spirit in clawing and scratching out a point. He focused on period 2 and called the team soft.
This, along with the absolutely disgraceful handling of the Couturier situation, could have been the 'tipping point'.
Usually fatigued teams wear out as the game goes along. But in the first few mins itself, there was an overabundance of lapses. Not the effort kind. Just the basic kind of letting passes go across the crease, leaving guys open, 2 guys going to same man etc. The kind that Torts teams specialize in avoiding.
This coupled with post game body language makes me think the team has quit. - PT21
The Teams play took a hit trading Sean walker, Yes we got extremely high value for a throw in player. But he did a lot of little things that help the team, esp on PK ... He was quick getting puck out of the def zone and was fast enough to jump up on plays. He is a really really good passer. Then Coots happened... That was (frank)ed up, we can all agree.. Then the "Gauntlet" , Then as said above that OT loss to Isle.. All the while 1 days Torts throwing everyone under bus then next day saying they are trying and working hard.. This is exactly how everyone one of his Tenure's end. I wouldnt be suprised to see Brad Shaw and Rocky Thompson behind the bench the last few games.. I think this may be it for Torts. Yes the overachieved. They are still pros. But what we saw on ice last night was a team that really didnt give a poop anymore!
