I believe he's referencing 1974 through 2010.

I do not understand "quitting" on a coach.

To me, quitting on a coach shows that you are not committed to the team. If you have a problem with the coach you go to management during and after the season.

Quitting to me means you are not a player that I want on my team.

If the vets quit because they are unhappy, it sends the wrong message to to the young kids on the team.

If enough players went to DB and said they want Torts gone, Torts would be gone. DB is not the little female dog people make him out to be.

This is my opinion and I know I am gonna get skewered for it.

I mostly agree with what you posted here. Just two things. One, in my opinion this team hasn't quit. That's not the reason for it. Secondly, we don't know what Briere is. He is either complicit with the approach the team has taken or is outvoted and lacks power.

Okay, thanks. My response to that is that you count Stanley Cups, not regular season wins. This team hasn't won one in almost 50 years.

Just curious, how much power do you think DB has in the throuple? He's seemed rather submissive to the other 2.

This boils down to some of the comments you've made over the last month or so concerning players giving maximum effort, literally getting injured blocking shots all season long, scraping wins and OTL's out—keeping them in contention for the majority of the season, only to see it all slip away. It's a collective downer/negative effect to the team that's been snowballing for some time now; unable to score, inept power play, burned out rookie goalie unable to make the same timely saves that kept them in games. All of this coinciding with several of the regular scoring players slumping at the same time.

Trading Walker at a time when Risto, Seeler, Drysdale were all hurt, leaving Sanheim and York to do all the heavy lifting (while already overplaying Ersson), was the snowball starting down the hill. Should they have ever lost 8 in a row even so? Probably not, but they also didn't have room for error like that.

Danny deserves some of the heat as much as Torts. Why he decided to use a pick on Gurianov, who Torts seems to have 0 interest in using, while multiple goalies were available, is beyond me. Instead he stuck with an exhausted Ersson, and nothing but question marks behind him.

Torts' decision on Couturier I think was unneccesary and served no positive purpose, but it wasn't the end of the world. Hell, if memory serves me right, they went 1-0-1 in the games he was scratched. That being said, it was a negative spot light on the team that was just not needed. Why atrract bull crap drama at that time? Just play Coots less minutes as he eventually did. It serves a similar purpose without throwing a magnifying glass on them.

The year overall has still I think been a susccess, even with this absolute egg being laid. You can't look at how they outshot/outchanced/outworked teams ALL year and say this year is the same as the previous seasons. That being said, they still have a BUNCH of work to do on this roster.

The team has sucked hard this last stretch, but the overall season has been a step in the right direction. Both things CAN be true.

Didn't even mention Carter Hart's fantastic contribution.

Hart's departure was the first step in the wrong direction. Then trading Walker with those other injuries finished off the job. The absolutely dreadful PP also contributed mightily.

All season they relied on the PK to even out their awful PP. Suddenly, after the deadline, the PK goes into the garbage. Just totally flatlines. Now they're chasing teams that are scoring on the PP, while all year they had been able to make games about even strength play. What changed after the deadline?

2 full D pairs were lost and arguably their 2nd steadiest guy was gone.

what will it take for this franchise to realize this is a rotten core? maybe this beat down? these guys should have been moved long ago with CC. They are a losing group who will never ever in any kind of weather win anything.

seeing the look on the players face was awesome. like someone stole their dog. the coach and his facial expressions also good stuff. this coach has nothing left to offer.

they need to flush the majority of this roster down the toilet; if they are gonna bring the coach back. until that happens there is no hope in sight. maybe MM says f this I want out.

you have 3 stooges running the show. best chance to ever win a cup is if comcast sells. the flyers are a laughingstock. as irrelevant as a team can be; league and city wise. Best part is the wharton certificate grad is probably pooping his pants as he has no idea what to do now.

also glad they will get no playoff revenue. they organization as well as the players do no desrve it. hope they lost money this year.

What I don't understand and probably will never understand ia how the Flyers can play last night's game with Zamula, Attard and Ginning not playing. Win or lose down the stretch here, I thought the purpose of this year was to evaluate the young players, especially in games that mean something? Last night was the last meaningful game the Flyers will play this season, and three of their potential future players were not playing. And it's not like playing veterans gives this team a better chance to win. Staal and Johnson are cooked, their well-done, they are beyond basting. And honestly, we know what Sanheim is, or Seeler, they could sit a game. It just makes no sense. It's a lost opportunity. At this point, the Flyers should send Ginning and Attard back down to LHV to help the Phantoms get into the playoffs so at least they can get that experience.

The country club morons that have infested this team for years need to be purged. The hiring of former Flyers or those with connections to these disgusting people… It’s the same old bullpoop, same old half ass retools, and obsessions with intangibles.

Loser (frank)ing franchise obsessed with its past, and outdated philosophies.

Looking forward to a good laugh how it was a successful season. The Flyers propagandists will be out in force soon enough.

Would love to know what they said to the boys after the game. The moment that the FO takes a lick of accountability, instead of blaming the players will be the day hell freezes over.
