My point is Ottawa's Tkachuk is probably the tougher brother even though big brother has dropped them.

These guys want to win, so it was always doubtful to me he was leaving w/o a solid confirmation of discontent.

Elbows will blow a gasket after this quote, especially who it is by:

Ben Pope
@BenPopeCST
Kevin Korchinski has some similarities to a younger version of Roman Josi.

Take it from Seth Jones, who played with both of them: "I think Korch could be a Josi in this league."

Could be worse. Jones could have compared KK to himself.

We're well stocked with bottom 6 players.
- rpeters01

To be honest, most contenders can’t afford the best bottom six as they are normally top heavy. Just as we wish the Hawks had some of their top six, some of those teams wish they had some of our bottom six, some being the key word.

Seriously.
If the Blackhawks could get Ottawa's Brady Tkachuk who is signed 8.2 million until after 2027-28, I offer up that first overall right now...no wait for the lottery, throw in a defender and a goalie prospect Stauber) too.

I think this kid can easily be the meaner, engaged score than we have even seen so far, and as dominant shift to shift as big brother in Florida.

And Bedard has a linemate who plays with him enough that they don't need the other policeman Tinoirdi.

And Fantilli long term of Celebrini from what I have seen of both.

- wiz1901
this is big if, say Brady Tkachuk is available Hawks have the resources to pull of a trade. Don't know what Ottawa would want in return are they rebuilding retooling stuck in the middle. So say they are going to rebuild again Tampa's 1st and 2nd and solid prospect to be named later. Or Tampa's 1st and Toronto 1st for Tkachuk and rldely Craig. Maybe other picks or prospects need to added on either side to get it done. But imo no way does Ottawa does this.

I figure whatever rumour was out there was a JJ special, conjured up from his ass. Tkachuk has absolutely no leverage to demand a trade, now if this were a contract year the rumour would be more realistic. So we get to keep the next Roman Josi.

Idk, I'd think after getting embarrassed particularly last game, they will tonite...but I reserve the right to be completely wrong.

I think some of the vets might be a little checked out this late in the year with nothing much to play for.

Well that can't be. Josi was a Norris candidate at 19. KK is still Bambi on skates and will never be more than a 7th dmen.

Really looking forward to see Del Masbusto tonight, haven’t seen him play since the World Juniors.

Yeah, I hope he doesn't play like the last three times I saw him, but he will be playing with a higher end minor NHL club and that might help.

No matter what on ice defensive miscues you see in the kid playing pro, no one, including Elbows, can deny his passing, his easy stride, and 4 way mobility.

I just would never at this juncture build a hockey ports article based on a vet teammate answering comments on a much younger teammate's upside. I would never have used Josi as the similar comparison until Korchinski breaks it up down low in his end and prances up to lead the attacks.

Gosh, I am not even sure I think I can find a guy to call Josi-like unless you try and use the stick handling of Makar to pump up the likeness.

You got a loonng wait. He can't. He doesn't have the burst for that. Easy stride? LOL

FFS, it takes him 10 strides to get from the dot to the blue line.
He will never be close to Josi. Plus, he is kinda hockey dumb.

Ben Pope is young journalist who has seen less hockey games than any of us and believes what players tell him as gospel.

Yes, you are. Korchinski is at best the 4th best skaters on the defense.

He loses foot races constantly. His pivots are clunky. And he has no ability to skate away from pressure cause he has no acceleration.

He's a bust.
