They 100% were not going to draft Sanguinetti. They had him as a second-round range pick. If Giroux had been off the board, Patrik Berglund was next on their internal list.

Story came out on 31 Thoughts about Hexy leaving the Flyers for the Kings pre-draft and he took Flyers draft research with him. Flyers had been in love with Trevor Lewis at #22 but Hexy encouraged the Kings to trade into #17 to grab him.

Apparently Clarke was pissssseeed, and hence he forgot Claude's name.

It's hilarious how certain narratives become ingrained.

Well, it's college, he has to.

Full visor or full cage.

In juniors, in Canada, this isn’t the case at all.

Canadian Junior-A has adopted a full cage mandate.

Also U18's at Team Canada camp have to wear full cages as per IIHF rules.

They are lucky they got what they did. The league knew he wasn’t going to sign with the Flyers and Gauthier gave them a list of who he would sign with. Not a ton of leverage for the Flyers there.
- psuhockey

Flyers had ALL the leverage. There absolutely ZERO chance that cg or his agent wanted him to have to stay in college for 4 years before he could become a free agent. That would’ve cost them millions of dollars in future earnings AND risk of injury. These top players want the deal as soon as possible.
If Philly would’ve played hardball instead of what they did the agent and player would’ve been quick to meet with them. All Philly had to do was go public with story about cg not meeting with them or team reps and publicly say they are disappointed but they will not have someone they have rights to force their hand. That they won’t accept a subpar trade and player can rot for 4 years o
If he chooses.

Again players want to get those deals early so they burn through elc and get onto big money deals

Several weeks ago I woulda been absolutely elated had they beaten the rags 4-1. Last nights reaction: “meh”

A lot of experience for the rookies and younger guys and hopefully, unlike some of the years past, these younger players will grow and take the next step forward and not stagnate or backslide.

Hopefully the Flyers don’t do anything rash like convince themselves they are one or two expensive old free agents away from contending. Stay the course. Draft well. Trade smartly.

I swear we go through this every damn year....yes there is a difference and it's called the lottery. This must be a record, 10 straight years of no deep draft everyone is the same 2 through 438? The difference between 11 and 15 is the fact the Flyers at least have a chance of moving up where 15 they don't. Plus every year the Flyers somehow end up finishing just outside the range of players in a tiny higher tier due to that extra win or 2 they get for no reason or because someone jumps over them due to the lottery pushing others back.

I still believe since the draft is 100% luck based the team should let the fans make the picks, can they really do any worse than what these dippoops they pay to scout do?

- Glak18

Can I also add into the equation that the higher the pick is the more ammo in trade value? There’s a huge difference between 15 and 12 etc.

I play Thursday's, always a push/pull since the Flyers are on most Thursdays. looking on the bright side, I was like cool, the Flyers are going to lose, I am ok them losing and I can just go skate. Then, they play a good game. Got home around 1 and watched the Ranger feed, always like their announcers, seem fair, but they could not say enough about how the Flyers were playing. fast forwarding through, did seem like they played a strong team game, TK was TK, Zam looked good, Ers looked good. just a shame. Would have preferred the Flyers made the dance.

All I said was juniors…

In terms of talking about prospects that are about to enter the NHL, what did you think I was talking about?

I notice that cutter is dominating the frozen four while drysdale dropped a -6 the other night. Great golf round but not a great game.

Man that trade is going to kill in like 2 years. Ffs. We completely blew that one.

Leonard has been the most impressive to me throughout the post season.

It's unclear because Junior-A is a viable pathway to the NHL as well.

See: Makar, Parayko, Tavares, Turris, Hyman, Tanev, etc.

Who cares if college players wear cages?

It didn't stop Quinn Hughes from being an instant NHL star

How much experience did ej gain last night?

I am sure that ol, ra, ag, and dg are so much better prepared for high stakes hockey after watching the game from the cote suit and eating popcorn

Also it's a shame that dudes like Gaudreau, Guentzel, Slavin, Zegras, Tage Thompson, McAvoy wore the stupid cage.... they could have dominated the NHL otherwise.

So Ersson plays well and this is a bad thing. I remember Bob getting lit up in the playoffs as a Flyer thinking this guy is just backup. Whew, I was wrong.
Spare me, yeah but the playoffs. 70 playoff games with .905 save % playing mainly for the organizational juggernaut Blue Jackets. I want to see Ersson play well these last 2 games. If he plays well, yup it will cost them draft spots. I'm fine with that outcome.
