I could never get used to a shield. Every time you move your head sweat sprays all over it. They get fogged up. I grew up wearing a cage and wore a cage until I stopped playing in my 50s. If cages didn’t look so stupid they’d wear them on the NHL.

This trade deadline wasn’t the time to trade TK. Agree Laughton should have gone if the rumored 1st round picks were offered. The Johnson trade was a waste and something I still do not agree with.

Stay the course was obviously meant in reference to the stated “rebuild” which in part they stuck to by trading Walker. I have no problem with the Seeler signing. Still need veterans.

See I hear that narrative all the time with players with value like tk. Tdl wasn’t the time. Draft wasn’t the time. Value could go up. Etc etc etc. it’s all a risk by NOT moving a player when the decision is made to move them. For example if they had moved him last year at draft do they miss out on him this year? Didn’t trade him this year at tdl how does it affect future? Next thing you know you’re in a position of clock has run out. Say they got a first and 4th at tdl for him. But at draft they get 1st and a 3rd was it worth the risk?
I’m not saying you just move an asset with real value just to do it. Obviously if offers suck you wait but with tk the value from last years tdl yo this years probably about the same so all they did was get another year from him that helped to screw draft position and waste development time for players moving forward

Fair point. All of it. I still think TK has good value this summer. An entire year with the ability to resign him should be enticing for a team looking to get that final offensive piece. I agree that as the season goes on his value diminishes and the only hope is for a bidding war at the TDL.
