So...it's Varly's net to start the series with Carolina, agreed?

Yes. Go with the hot hand.

Yeah, change it quickly if the team needs a jolt or if Varly isn't as sharp as he's been, but he's probably earned game 1 at least.

I hope Roy has a game plan that's very different from Trotz's and Lane's, because, man, Carolina's system always seems to be the exact antidote to what the Isles are doing. I hate playing this team

I can't imagine they don't ride him while he's hot. This is exactly why I didn't have a problem with his extension, they have an embarrassment of riches in net. If he doesn't play well, needs to get pulled, or gets injured then the guy coming in is capable of completely dominating if he plays up to the level he can

They really aren't playing the same style that Trotz or Lane used. As long as they have a balanced attack of 4 lines and get solid team D, they could steal this series.

Yeah, it's good motivation for Sorokin, too: When he gets his chance, he'll have to be lights out to get the net back.

They flip pucks high and forecheck forcing the isles up the wall to their d and then just generate shots galore. They are so hard to breakout on because of that

#Isles, if they want to, can call up two players ahead of season finale vs. #LetsGoPens.

Maybe we'll get to see Ishakov and someone else tomorrow night if they want to rest some guys

This is the most meaningless of meaningless games for the Isles...can't move up; can't drop back. And the Pens will be giving it everything they have. That might be a recipe for injury...I wish they could just sit everyone and dress a roster of fans

MSG could do one of those cringy fan memorabilia commercials with them afterward..."Here's a piece of my fractured skull from when I called Malkin a piece of garbage."

Full agree, but it would also be nice to (frank) the Pens out of a playoff spot

Personally, I would like to see the Zamboni driver in net.

Also, Ishakov replacing Barzal. I don't know who else in B'port merits a look.

Might as well play the depth guys like Bolduc and Wahlstrom, so that they can sit whoever is most banged up.

Pens will probably be done too they need to beat isles and have both caps and wings lose, caps win tonight they are in. Isles should sit most everyone

You and I can be the first defense pair tonight. How about it?

Edit...I should probably prepare by getting the game day right first!

Someone's gonna have to play though. They can sit one of the defensemen for Bolduc, two forwards for Wahlstrom and Holmstrom and call up two guys to take two more spots at forward.

Or, obviously, call up a defenseman and rest 2 D and 3 F

Don't feel bad, Sid already deked you out of your jock strap and put you on permanent IR with a shattered ego

The shattered ego I'll recover from. The "I think I tore something while hopping over the boards" is another story.

I so badly want to get on the ice with someone like him or McDavid and try to defend them. Not because I think I have one iota of a chance of stopping them but I just need to see that kind of speed and skill first hand

It has to be insane. I think I remember stories about Arron Asham showing up at local rinks after retirement, completely dominating, and having to warn everyone whenever he wanted to shoot so people didn't get hurt. If that's what a retired Asham can do, I can only imagine what an elite active player would be like against normal people.

Call up a goalie. Dress 18 guys but only play 5. So what if it's 54-0.

I dunno. I see myself as more of a power forward.

Also, Defensemen should be able to skate backwards. Afraid I don't check that box.

I reffed the sens during the lockout in Binghamton 17 nhlers, Pageau zibinijab Hoffman silferberg stone and many others. Goalies were Lawson bishop leaner and hamburgler. The talent was insane
