I get what everyone is saying. It's your team, you should be happy if they get a ticket to the dance. Normally I would but I am having 1994 flashbacks!!!

Knowing teams will not hesitate to take extra liberties on your team because your powerplay has the potency of a water pistol.

Retaliation is not an option as the PK is as strong as a wet paper bag.

There best option is keeping it 5 on 5 but are they discipline enough to do so. Only time with tell.

I hope I am just one of those basement gms that are completely wrong.

Need to get in, but would love to somehow get the Rangers in the first round way more than the canes. Would be epic on many levels, especially if they beat them, which is possible. Guess we’ll know soon enough who get, if they make it.

I always hated the 4v4 OT when they used to do that. I thought I'd hate 3v3 even more, but I kind of like it. The strategies are different enough from 5v5 so it's something unique, but it's still team hockey so it doesn't feel as much like a cheap gimmick that doesn't belong.

I guess if I was king of the NHL, I'd probably go 7 minutes of 3v3 and then a tie after that, both teams get a point for going past regulation so they fight harder in OT for the second point. Tiebreaker for standings would got back to wins, rather than regulation wins.

3v3 has been great. It's exciting and more often than not it gets the game to a conclusion without having to go to the shootout, which is awful. It's a way to get a winner and it's fun to watch.

Maybe it’s my age but I’m not a fan. Rather they just do it the traditional way. If it ends in a tie so be it.

Completely agree. I was a fan at first, however as the years have gone by, i have soured on the whole thing.
3 on 3 in ot for 10 minutes should end most games.

i don't like it, reminds me of basketball with no shot clock or back court rule where one fast break ends the game. i don't think it's true hockey, it's a manufactured fluke situation

Well I can't imagine the NHL ever goes back to ties, so while it may not be "true hockey" it's a way for the top players to put their skills on display that isn't the shootout (which completely sucks) and usually yields a definitive end to a game. I think it's exciting and I enjoy the switch from 4v4.

as an ardent union buster i believe that regular season games should be decided the same way as playoff games.

MLB used to do it until their idiot union ruined the game. NBA still does it and the face of their league is a gigantic dripping wussy. no excuses NHL. thought you guys were tough...

I think the isles 5 on 5 play has been great as of late. Hopefully they can put in a full 60 and lock in a spot.
