It’s going to be the funniest thing seeing Willy not get to 100 pts
I wish I would’ve kept all the comment you freaks made about how he’s the greatest leaf winger ever.
Also, great defensive effort from him lastnight. Exactly what we expect from a 11.5M player.
- Arctic_AARDVARK
Meh, 97, 98, 99 or a 100pts....all still pretty darn good
Willy will be making 11.5m per year, he has money, so why do you allow him to live rent free in your head? |

Poor Willy. Looks like he is going to get stuck playing a lot with our softest winger in the playoffs. Might be his first time "not showing up" in the playoffs in a few years. |

Would be interested in how Hockeybuzzers would rank these players who have worn #16 for the Leafs based on playoffs only.
Mike Walton Cup in 67 2 goals and 3 points in the finals
Tim Horton yep was #16 before #7
Nik Borschevsky did have that big OT winner against the Wings
Mitch Marner best least Leaf ever according to some…… well one
Bert Olmstead cup in 62

The enjoyment is watching you try to cope with cold hard facts.
You’ll end up joining forces some pretty shady characters - Arctic_AARDVARK
What are the "facts" that you get enjoyment from?
Would it not likely be better for Leafs if Willy does well? You'd rather the Leafs lose than Willy succeed?
It's not as though the fans on this site are paying Willy's salary.
You must live a really sad life. I feel sorry for you.

2-way contract.
I’ve noticed that MLSE is doing this with more frequency.
Still not a lot, but IIRC, a few years ago they had next to no one. |

He is going to be over paid by 1-1.5 million. If he doesn't hit 100 pts this year, I will bet he never hits 100pts in his career. 90 pt wingers shouldn't get paid 11.5 especially ones with inconsistency and intensity issues(soft). I think the Nylander hate will only get worse as time goes on. The last 3-4 years of his contract will be painful paying 11.5 for likely a 70pt one-dimensional player. Ask yourself, what will be the motivation going forward for him? He just doesn't have it in him to be what we all want him to be. Great player, offensively skills and blessed with insane talent. Just does not have the ultra-competitiveness like other stars( Pastrnak, McKinnon, Kucherov..etc) who are worth that money. |

You just described Marner. They've already been doing that for 5 years and everyone seems good with it so Willy should be fine. |

The amount of negative posts about Willy in here at $6.9 million. I cannot imagine how much worse it will be at $11.5

Correction: 90pt Scoring Wingers (40+ a season) in this structure of cap should get that. He also pks now and plays pp1. Cap increase and comparable (especially that in house one) he should get that. |

If this was last year I may have semi agreed with you, this year he has shown a few new tricks and more heart. From the first game he stepped it up a notch and kept it going. Not until the last few games has he slumped, but even then he's played well enough to earn his ice time. All players regularly slump. Matthews, Mac, every Connor in the league slump. If he can keep up this years play for the next few, he's going to deserve his salary. Besides to me it looks like the choice has been made to keep Willy and trade Marner. We will see |

Don’t even with these guys.
The only reason they’re Willy dïck riding is because I get under their skin (because I’m right about mostly everything) so they over compensate with these ridiculous comebacks haha.
Let em cope. |
