Holy (frank) calm down man, jesus you sound like AA now it was meant (mostly) as a joke.
That being said Marner could have gone to one of the other 2 Tampa players on the ice and tied them up at least vs looking like the guy with vapour lock in the middle of a war zone and who knows he very well may have done that - like I said this is a pic at a specific moment in time.
I never said he nor Willy nor Matthews for that matter should be fighters. - Cush29
Im calm. Dont get so sensitive again.
Its an honest question, whos he suppose to fight. Be a third man on two people wrestling? Thats a worse look.
I cant find video of it to see what occurred, did he lolly gag, was he involved or not.
I prefer context thats all.

Go tie a guy up - you can do that and not fight, it's allowed. lol - Cush29
There is no one to tie up.
In the picture, 3 lightning playwrs are already tied up with 3 leafs
Wheres the 5th leaf player and the 4th and 5th lightning player?
Now if the the other two lightning players are wrestling with the 5th leafs player and mitch is just floating around, then ya, thats a real bad look for sure.

I feel like a flying elbow from the top rope is the way to go here.
Speaking of the Senaturds keep this pic at the ready for when the Playoffs begin and the Sens moron comes in here to tell us all what’s wrong with the Leafs.
Saw this yesterday or the day before and laughed pretty hard.

because there are two tampa players on one leafs players along the board...MM is sleeping - Symba007
But there isnt, thats a 3rd official on the middle group, from the looks of it.
6 players, 3 officials.
Dunno, would like to see a different angle or vid.
If its two lightning on one leafer, than ya mitch has to get involved.
Anywho.

Me sensitive? uh no.
I posted a pic (again mostly as a joke) and you got all "who is he supposed to fight, I don't see other Tampa players, he's not a fighter big surprise" replies to me and others but whatever.
Here is the video - if you want to drag this out Marner should have probably helped Matthews when Stamkos jumped him as Matthews had 2 sticks in his hand (classless AF from Stammer) or at the least gone to ensure the Tampa player on the blue line didn't decide to come in and join the fray IMO.
For what it's worth I didn't see 2 Tampa players on 1 Leaf anywhere but Stamkos should have got suspended IMO as maybe also the other Tampa player who started the fight (Jennot?) after it was done. Bush league but it's what Tampa does / did so well and I guess the Leafs have to do some of?

He’s gets worked up into a huff over nothing all the time.
And his only response to people who disagree with him, is to compare them to me.
So I ask you the question, if everyone is so quick to attack me, then who’s really living in who’s head “rent free.”
Cush is a donkey. Most of you’s are donkeys. You and Zez are at the very best are mules.

They pay others to be capable of throwing hands, do not need any of those players injured over a scrum.
If a player absolutely cheap shot 5-10 game suspension worthy hit then maybe? Even then who cares. They score, thats what they do to help the leafs win.

Hows it a bad look if there is no one around to tangle with?
Seems like an out of context pic, is there a video of this? To really see if he did nothing? - Fakepartofme
Let me give you the proper context:
Leafs fans are franking morons, who for some reason want to hate on their own players.
Don't ask me to explain it - I haven't been able to understand it for a half a century.
Marner is currently 11th in the league in points per game.
But we have to find something to hate on him for, amirite?
Most days it's his salary.
But every once in a while, we need to mix it up.
Maybe it's his mom flossing to the music during a time-out.
Today it's a stupid photo of him not fighting.
It's the butt-hurt, working man grievances that unite us all.

I actually think Shanahan's employment is at risk - if I'm not mistaken, he's only under contract until the end of next season. - mjones242
Shanahan will have to take the fall eventually, but as frustrated as I've been with not winning, I still give him a lot of credit.
One of the things that I am always reminded of with the Leafs is how infrequently they have managed to or been allowed to embark upon a rebuild - or at least an extreme retooling. Shanahan did manage to convince them to embrace it.
After they won the cup in '67, with a rather aged team, the Leafs fell into mediocrity floating around 4th in their 6 team division (3 of the teams were original 6 teams, placing well ahead of Toronto). By 1973 the Sabres had passed them the Kings were about to - and they were 13th in a 16 team league. It was time - and they started to package what little starpower they had left and move them out - this was basically only Jacques Plante and Bernie Parent at this point. They still had Keon, but they weren't going to move him - but they also weren't willing to pay him and after only one more year he went off to the WHA. They had, by this time, drafted Sittler, Thompson, Kehoe, Ferguson, Boutette - and then proceeded to add McDonald, Turnbull, Palmateer, Williams - among other guys who played their parts for us (Carlyle, Neely, etc.). For the most part they were patient and most of the moves they made weren't bad (acquiring Wayne Thomas for a 1st rounder wasn't great; trading Carlyle (who'd win a Norris 3 years later) and Ferguson for Dave Burrows wasn't particularly wise - and we did draft Selke winner Doug Jarvis and trade him for a can of beans - but in and among the moves made, there weren't too many bad decisions. Certanly the worst thing, just on the other side of the rebuild as they started to see success, was the acquisition of Dan Maloney - insisted upon publicly by owner Harold Ballard - which cost the team dearly - they had to pay 2 1sts, a second and Errol Thompson to get him.
Most of us know that Punch Imlach came in and ripped it apart because they couldn't compete with the powerhouse Canadiens, but he did so with so much spite and so little vision, it set everything they'd built back by years.
Following this period, despite wallowing at the bottom of the league for most of the next decade, the Leafs would draft well - but never stockpile - players - getting decent young guys like Clark, Courtnall, Leeman, Damphousse, Iafrate - but never going in on trading assets to actually rebuild. In 1989 they did buy in and got 3 draft picks in the 1st round, drafting 3, 12 and 2 (the Belleville three) and striking out on all three picks.
The Fletcher era brought some success, but that was trade - and was short lived. The Burke era did bring some passion, but it was short-sighted and never really looked to the future. Burke & Nonis did end up getting some hits in drafting Kadri and Rielly - but the Leafs real rebuild started in 2014 when Shanahan was hired.
They accepted bottoming out as something you had to do and they drafted Nylander, Marner and Matthews as a result. The argument can be made (and has been by me as well) that signing JT was a mistake, but given the team's upward trajectory, it was unlikely that doing nothing would have sufficed. Wrong guy? Sure, maybe. But they needed a 2C and consequently never did upgrade the D as effectively as they should have.

I merely asked who he was suppose to fight or how should he have got involved based on that pic.
Thanks for the video, it does add context. Marner did tangle up with someone at the beginning of the vid as he should have. But then 3 separate wrestling matches broke out and he simply wasnt involved as a 5th lightning player was injured and the 4th was nowhere near the scrum.
Matthews can take care of himself, it was one on one.
But yes, (frank) tampa.
